      Sorry, I have to clear up that little misconception about statistics and birth control posted back on the first page. That's not how statistics work. If birth control is 99% effective, that means (in general) if 100 women have sex one time, 1 of them will become pregnant. Individually, it means that each time you have sex, you have a 1/100 chance of becoming pregnant (assuming proper usage of the pill and such). Each time you have sex you have a 1/100 chance, it is not cumulative. So while it's never 100% reliable, you're not going to have sex 99 times and then all of a sudden become pregnant. Enjoy! (If you choose to do so!)
