      And we probably all agree that both sex and love making are needed in a relationship.

      Sex is a recreational activity. Making love is a bonding activity.

        In my own litttle fantasy world, the biggest differences between "sex" and "making love" most definately revolve around the emotional and intimate aspects. There is a different feeling I have inside. One is more selfishness, the other is more about pleasing.

          Ah I was kinda thinking along those lines too. Sex is kinda more on the side of pleasing yourself, while making love is pleasing your partner.
          And yes, I think both are essential.
