Why not talk to a person who is now a parent who also thought it was okay not use condoms and instead pull out and/or tinker around when precum was around. If you are unsure then why would you not suit up a condom just to be able to breath a little easier?
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

Why take a chance? Get into Planned Parenthood, if you are monogamous and don't want all the chemicals in your body (I tried to avoid them) look at a NON hormonal IUD or a diaphram.

Withdrawl, even during your 'non-fertile' time isn't safe. Trust me.

Haha,There are some funny myths out there.Especially the gravity method.

But for real,Yes you can certainly get pregneant from precum. Its happened to someone I know. Now she is a 16yr old mother.Condoms would be a good habbit to get back into,or maybe go get on a BC of somekind.

            what I have read...

I have read studies that indicate that pre-ejaculate or Cowper's fluid 'typically' does not contain sperm. When practiced correctly it can be close to as effective as wearing a condom. 2-4% is what I have read which is really not that great if you figure in how many times you have sex over the course of a year (hopefully hundreds of times). One major aspect that is commonly incorrectly practiced is after ejaculation the man's urethra needs to be cleaned out (a good urination) prior to re-entry due to residual sperm.

Concerning something as major as pregnancy, I wouldn't trust it to be as effective as I would like. Accidents happen and it is all to easy for 'accidents' to happen too. Both of my children are of the 'accident' variety (very thankful that I have them in my life). My ex was on the pill but it was easy for her to skip a few and not say anything. When practicing withdrawal the same can happen too (shoe on the other foot though).

If a couple is not ready for children then I highly suggest doubling up (ie condom/withdrawal and the pill). So glad that my procreating days are long gone (being 'fixed' is very liberating ).

            cheers!

...never heard of that one. that one just SOUNDS stupid! Like using jam to catch the sperm instead of springing for real birth control.

The real problem is a guy getting so excited during sex, that he's just a bit slow using the pull out method, and ends up shooting some inside the woman, before pulling out to finish. That is the real danger here, and some guys might just be a bit more careless than others in that process.
So the "double dip" sex has some risks as well as making sure he's faster at pulling out? i'll keep that in mind.

My last scare was with a condom. It had slipped off him during intercourse right after he came. after that I stopped breathing easy with those. and we did pull out with them on as well (which i don't think he liked very much)

After reading everyone's posts, most people call it a fact, wile one person with a blocked out link source said myth... so I'm still unsure on what to think. I guess I could research and play things safe if I'm not already pregnant. and if i am pregnant, then i have other things to worry about.... as i had gotten quite drunk recently when i could have already been carrying it.

It's a myth. Trust us. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

So based on those figures if you are lucky enough to have sex, lets say 100 times in a year (just under twice a week) then you will have 2 to 4 kiddies to feed after 12 months.
                    Yep, those are good odds.

If you do not want to get pregnant then you want a 0% chance. Not 1% coz that's 1 ankle biter for 100 romps. Use protection to be sure.

0% chance.... the Only way to get that is to not have sex.
