While this is true there are certainly other precautions that should be taken by any couple not currently wanting children. Condoms (there are several sized available), spermacidal lube, birth control. All of these methods and more are worlds safer than rolling the dice that precum won't get a person knocked up, and personally I think pulling out is playing with fire. -

Yep... That is if you agree with Bill Clinton, though it still leaves room for a lot of ways to have a very fun time. Never underestimate all of the other ways to express your sexuality. By backing away from vaginal sex for a while, you will find many great ways to reach the same grand finale for both you and your partner. You both stand to learn from it.
Also, if you consider that the pill (when used correctly- ei 'perfect-use') it has a failure rate of ~.3% in other words: 3 times out of a 1000 it might not work which still is not that great if you are very sexually active (if you have sex almost daily you might be lucky for a few years).
Good news: coupling the pill with something else like a condom or withdrawal (remember- perfect-use) your chances of getting pregnant would probably go down to a few in 10,000. Much better!
Having a child is a very big deal for both the man and the woman involved and should be very well thought out before it happens.
Best of luck with you decision making process!Comment

There are so many ways sperm could end up in precum. Sure if we test a sample from a clean urethra most guys might not have any but some still do and there's that chance of a not completely empty urethra. In the end you can have a study that says there is no semen in precum and a study that says there is semen in precum. Both can have high odds. It depends what variables they decided to use or eliminate. Overall it's not a good idea and does not have a very high percentage.
Birth control percentages are not out of the number of times you have sex. 1% does not mean 1 pregnancy out of 100 acts of intercourse. It's the number of people who got pregnant using that method for 1 year so 1% means 1 couple out of 100 ended up with a child after 1 year of having sex. Since some people will use a given method better than others this is both more accurate and less accurate depending what category you fall under. There are plenty of methods of birth control that come out at less than 1%. Consider if we apply what those percentages actually mean to something like birth control pills.... If we take the number of times 1000 women have sex in a year we only end up with 3 pregnancies. The odds are quite against it happening.
Unfortunately when looking at it this way the methods with lower numbers start to look worse. Planned Parenthood gives withdrawal by itself a 70% typical use rate so out of 4 women you know about 1 will become pregnant within the next year if they all used withdrawal. They are a bit biased but even if we take slightly higher numbers or compare only perfect use there would be a lot more pregnant women and kids around without other forms of birth control.Comment

Just saw this news story today that should show everyone how resilient and determined spermazoa are to reach their goal.
They don't allow external links, so Google this:
Teen Girl With No Vagina Pregnant by Sperm Survival from Oral Sex
A girl that gave oral to a guy swallowed. Then she got caught in a knife fight between the guy and her boyfriend. She gets stabbed, and has abdominal wounds. The sperm in her stomach found their way to her ovaries, or cut fallopian tube, where the egg is.
Those little guys are determined swimmers.
The safest way to not get pregnant is... drum roll please!
Don't have sex!
or
Don't swallow then get caught in a knife fight!Comment
