Oh Dear, I should have known I'm not the only one who knows a man stupid enough to do this to himself!
If he masterbates frequently and has rough hands and/or does it vigorously, he's probably rubbing himself raw. Our progression went from amazing sex, fairly often, to less and less often and less good, to have to use a condom, to it hurts even with a condom, to none at all.
Men get a penis and a brain and both require a blood supply to work. Apparently some of them can only operate one at a time. Somehow they aren't smart enough to figure out that they are doing this to themselves.
Tell him to keep his hands off himself for a couple weeks. Otherwise prepare for a sexless relationship.Comment

Sorry, I am not a doctor. Sore just doesn't describe it well enough and maybe a doctor is in order. It will be very embarrassing for him and, since you know about it somewhat, your support will be invaluable...maybe even be with him in the consult...but it may be just a technique thing or it may be more serious. It is not an area you want to second guess on.
Help him understand what is needed and be there for him.sigpicComment

Totally unrelated, but this made me laugh histerically
Anyway, when I was younger and first tried conventional masturbating, I didn't realize the importance of lube, and after doing it once and feeling like my skin was on fire, I didn't do it again for a long time
Without further description i'm assuming this is the issue. If his pain is anywhere other than the skin on his penis, you may wish to suggest that he go to a doctor, as their could be something wrong. The penis is a good barometer to overall male health, so if somethings wrong there, there could be problems elsewhere.
