Well, congratulations on the vasectomy ( I think). That takes a lot of courage. Honestly I wouldnt let a doctor take a knife to my willy any day. And congratulations with finally getting her to open up (even if she is just cracking the door).
And it seems you learned there is no such thing as an easy relationship (easy and functional at least). Wish you the bestThey call it PMS because Mad Cow Disease was already taken.

Women are meant to be loved, not understood.-Oscar Wilde -
Well, it took us 25 years, but we finally did it. We had sex for the first time while watching porn!
I'm sensitive to her needs, and was watching for any reaction of disgust or repulsion. She held her own, and we had a great time. I was really overly paranoid, so ironically, I had some problems. First time jitters is what I think it was. I read my wife's reactions and my sexual desire adjusts accordingly. Her reaction was ok, actually indifferent, but my paranoia got the best of me last night. Now that I know that she is ok with it the next time will be better.
It's a work in progress.
We recently had another heart-to-heart, and she admitted that she thought of sex as a supplement to love, and never considered it being a major factor of love, until recently. I admitted that I have been living unnaturally for the past 25 years, that for me sex is the forefront of affection and showing love for each other. I admitted that I fell so much in love with her and that I was hoping that she would be my rock, my stability, for my naturally free spirit and highly sexual personality. But we are who we are, it's neither right or wrong. It's just how we are wired. I was born to breed and live life to the fullest, she was born to provide a stable environment for her family. She said that she always saw me as a "bad boy," and fell in love with me for that. We are "opposites attract." She has always been stronger morally and religiously. I told her that I was hoping that hanging out with her that her morals would rub off on me. They have, and have helped me live in a much more stable life. If I didn't fall for her I would probably have gone through so much drama and several divorces by now. What brought this conversation up was that I finally called her on not completing the book we started, and not reading some articles that I thought would help our relationship.
We truly love each other. We just have to work out the different "hard-wiring" that we have.Comment
