Bleeding - Why?
This past weekend things got hot and heavy with a guy and he was fingering me but that's as far as it went, we didn't have sex. When I went to the washroom about half an hour later I was bleeding a bit, which stopped a couple hours later. Does that mean that my hymen was broken? Or could it be something else??
Thanks! -
You lost your virginity to a finger
My Dear,
were you 100% verging before this ??
if yes, and you felt some pain while he was doing that ,
then I am sorry to tell you, you lost You lost your virginity to a finger
but the good news is
it might be just scratched (not gone completely)
that depends on how far he inserted his finger into your vagina. -

depending on how rough he got he probably just scratched you, especially if he's young and inexperienced.Comment

Finger??
What the heck? Who ever heard of that? I also read somewhere on here that you were shocked to read that a girl was a virgin when she stated that she uses tampons. The definition of a virgin is this: "a person who has not had sexual intercourse." Is using a finger or a tampon taking part in sexual intercourse? So, according to you, I lost my virginity when I used my first tampon at the virtuous age of 16...or so. Hmmm...tampons are considered an instrument of sexual intercourse? Wow. I grew up in an Independent Baptist church. Very strict rules concerning dating and such. We never even wore pants, let alone went on dates with boys alone. I NEVER heard anything like that. That's off the wall. The Bible talks about a virgin being a woman who has never "known a man." That means she has never had sexual intercourse with a man...not a finger or a tampon. I don't think many people are of your persuasion. My Dear,

Now, for the girl about the finger thing. You did NOT lose your virginity to a finger (that is absurd)...if, of course, you were still a virgin at all when it got all hot and heavy...which I hope you were. Anyway, please make sure he washes his hands and nails from now on. There is a multitude of germs and bacteria living under our fingernails...no matter how clean we think we keep them. You don't want those germs "there." Take care!!Comment

Why are you attacking me with this negative attitude.?Who ever heard of that? So, according to you, I lost my virginity when I used my first tampon at the virtuous age of 16...or so. this site is all about sharing eachother's ideas, thoughts and experiences not trivializing them.
to correct you
you said " according to you, I lost my virginity when I used my first tampon at the virtuous age of 16...or so. Hmmm...tampons are considered an instrument of sexual intercourse? Wow"
did I say that? where?
I remember that I asked that question about using Tampon and being verging, did not claim it was true. I have never used tampons, and I have no idea how it could affect some one's hymen.
you also said
"I NEVER heard anything like that. That's off the wall"
thank you for referring to my thoughts as "off the wall "
you said
"You did NOT lose your virginity to a finger (that is absurd)..."
so what else broke her hymen other than a finger ?
Going back to the definition of virgin:
The girl who posted this thread asked whether her hymen was broken or not? and I answered her.
because she was bleeding for a while and that was not her period , what would it be then?
the definition of a virgin woman is a woman that has not lost her hymen.
When we think of virgins, we think of "white wedding innocents" But the the standard definition of virginity lets you get away with having a lot of different kinds of sex was still being able to call yourself a virgin. In theory, under the traditional definition of virginity, . Someone who has oral sex regularly or finger is also still a virgin. Does that really make sense?Last edited by housewife; 03-27-2007, 09:39 PM.Comment

Dispite everyone attacking this girl, she has a point this time. The girl asked if her hymen was torn, and well, more than likely it was torn.
Honey, you're still a virgin at heart. Don't stress all the retarded arguing in here. But more than likely, he probably cut you with his finger nails.Comment

For the record, you can also damage your hymen from such vigorous sexual activities as riding a bike.
As virginity is generally defined in this culture (and by dictionary.com), hymen is absolutely a non-issue.
Also, the friction from your boy's finger, if you weren't properly lubed up, could have possibly caused a small tear in your vaginal wall. No big deal, happens all the time. Next time, just tell him to be gentle, and be plenty lubed.
