    Mothers, I need your advice...

I've been having sex since I was 15 years old. I will be 17 in two days.

I want to tell my mother about it, but I don't know how to.

So, mothers... If your daughter was to tell you she was having sex how would you want her to tell you or how did you tell your mothers (if you did)?

My first question would be why do you feel the need to tell your parent(s)?

There is a method to my madness ........ I just haven't found it yet.

      Just noticed your thread...
I am curious too, as why you feel the need to tell your parent(s)..?
I suppose i would inquire as to why she felt the need to have pre-marital sex. (not judging, just..why?) Then the use of protection against pregnancy and conversation on STD's. A completely.. open and honest discussion. I would not want her to have mis-information or the wrong information concerning this subject.

I'm just going to pop in here real quick then leave,

Related concerns, birth control and needing parental permission for doctor to perscribe it. She's only 17 and not knowing where OP lives, this may be a requirement for insurance purposes.

I'm not a mother yet... just an observer...
but since you seem pretty open about telling her that you are active it makes me think maybe you all talk about girl issues and stuff like that... so if it were me I'd just be honest.
personally... when i was 20 i had my first pregnancy scare and went straight to my mom and she said "why didn't you ask me to help you get Birth Control? I'm a woman too and I'll understand what you are going through."

I guess when I was your age I did not tell my mother until I was 18 she was very understanding but did point out that having sex getting pregnant brings responsibility. She stated she wished i would have told here when I started so she could help me with birth control issues.

I'm sorry about that rude comment I posted on my thread earlier, I was just frustrated because it had over 40 views and no responses : /

I feel the need to tell my mother because she told me along time ago that she wanted me to tell her when it happened.

I've had pre-martial sex (with only one person, might I add) because I wanted to.
I've been dating my current boyfriend for over four years and we felt that we were ready.

Also, would you buy a car without test driving it first? Marriage is meant to last forever and a good sex life (isn't the most important thing)
plays a key role in keeping a healthy relationship.

The std/pregnancy prevention topic: I'm on the birth control pill (and I take it religiopusly) for my irritable periods and we use condoms regularly.

well i would just bring it up with her how old she was when she lost her virginity?? she may say why? then theres your opportunity to say 'mum i want to tell you somthing and i been stressingthat you will be ****ty, but i am not a virgin' and if she ask questions tell her (just leave out the details lol) It might be a good idea to stress to her that you have been practising safe sex, only if you have because if you havent then you should get tested.
She may be upset or seem different or not at all, but you have to allow her to ajust to the idea her'baby girl' is growing up !! lol Dont get upset if she says to you she wants you to go on birth control like the pill now,its her way of feeling like she is protecting you. Your mum will be happy that you have come to her in the end as it will bring you guys closer if you both feel like you can talk to oneanother,
goodluck and dont be scared afterall shes your mum and has been in your shoes too!!

also when i told my mum it was because i wanted her to understand why i was so upset still after 6 months of my boyfriend dying, i lost my virginity to him and i was sick of her and people saying i was being a 'attention' seeker,
mind you i was 14 when i lost my virginity and i wish i had waited to date boys, simply because i wouldnt have had the loss of a boyfriend to deal with at 14.
                    goodluck
