How old is she? Why wouldn't she be down to pleasure herself?? I understand it might be a little awkward, but my god! If she is weirded out about doing it to herself, buy her a vibrator. She will thank you. 
And like most people have already said- she does not have to pee! She is about to yell out in ecstasy.
Her face going numb is not normal. She needs to go see a GP or a OBGYN and make sure everything is on the up and up. If possible, before you guys do anything again. It could be a serious problem and sex is activating it.
