Do you consider it weird? Or not?
I'm still a virgin and I'm 18, which I'm okay with, because I want to wait til I find the right guy...But I've never had my first kiss, and that kind of bothers me... Sometimes It bothers me to still be a virgin, because I feel left out, but everytime a guy wants to or tries to have sex with me I hate the feeling of being used (which is why I'm still a virgin)...But not ever having my first kiss bothers me even more. Is it okay to not have ever kissed a guy at my age? or do you consider it weird? -
Not weird at all, actually kind of awesome. It's rare that young women refuse to settle and that's exactly what you're doing.
Don't bother doing anything with a guy until you really, really want to. Why sell yourself short when you've waited this long. Just consider it as having really high standards. -
I agree with the above - you're not settling, and you want someone who's for real. I think that's great, and RARE, these days. It's not too weird to me...I waited until I met a really good guy too, which made me a little bit of a late bloomer...but I don't regret it at all. We are no longer together, but we're still great friends.
What this means to me is that you have a fairly healthy attitude toward relationships - you don't want somebody just to be with somebody, and you don't want to waste your time on someone who isn't worth it. It sounds like you're holding out for a relationship with substance and depth rather than instant gratification. And, quite honestly, I think that's awesome.
A friend of mine didn't have her first kiss until she was 26...she's now married to the guy and they're very happy.Comment

I was 19 when I had my first kiss, and 19 when when I had sex. I am not the type of girl to just throw my body at a random guy because other girls the same age do, no, I wanted to have it from a guy that wanted to kiss me and not be the result of some stupid dare or drunk night. It is not immature or weird to wait out for a guy who treats you as something, and not another number, who wants to give you something even if it is as simple as a kiss. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.Comment
