It is possible you weren't wet enough and as you are a virgin, the lining in your vagina could be very tender and easily cut or torn. I agree 100% everybody is different. The first few times I had attempted to have sex, it just hurt too much, and we had to stop. I figured the reason why was because I was having a really hard time "breaking everything in" And I hadn't figured out what I liked yet. I ended up buying a small vibrator and eased my way into things, most importantly at my own pace. It also helped me educate my boyfriend at the time what needed to happen!
