How many women can orgasm from penetration alone?

I was wondering how many of you ladies can cum from actual intercourse, without any additional clitoral stimulation.

A very low percentage of women are able to do this. I am one that cannot.

I've been in two long term relationships and both could. I thought that was the norm. It's curious that it's not. I wonder why. The clitoris is a lot bigger than the visible portion and travels down underneath the labia on either side of the vaginal opening. I think the hood rubs the external portion through intercourse too.

The reason is the lack of nerve endings inside the vagina. if there were more nerve endings there it would be unbearable to have a child. So biologically it was made with the intent to have less sensation there, hence very few women can have an orgasm with penetration alone. Some women can simply because they are aroused enough and are lucky enough to get off with just thought essentially but that is certainly not the norm. Compared to the vagina the clitoris is basically pure nerve endings, upwards of 8000+, and yes it does travel down along the sides of the vulva but the nerves are deeper under the skin and less likely to be stimulated. Much of the stimulation during clitoral orgasm is done via the external clitoris.

so for women who cannot, they must get clitoral stimulation (self, oral, or fingers) to orgasm, right?

also, i've heard a lot of women say that they need not orgasm to enjoy sex. if the vagina is largely un-sensitive, how is this possible? foreplay? mere emotional connection of intercourse?

Most women do need that clitoral stimulation in whatever their preferred method is.

Many women do not need to orgasm to still feel good. It may be a situation of it taking to long to orgasm so they simply do not put much importance on it, or maybe the orgasms are not all that great in her particular case so it is a take it or leave it. All women will have their own reason for maybe not wanting to have an orgasm or feel that they do not have a need to orgasm during sex. The still feeling good part is everything else about sex, she may not orgasm but that does not mean the penetration and rubbing does not still feel good. The emotional part can also make a difference in the enjoyment of sex. Again all women will have their own reasons for still enjoying sex, sex is not centered specifically or exclusively on vaginal penetration.

Statistics say only about 30 percent of women can orgasm from penetration alone, but you have to remember that the way the man is thrusting or the way a woman moves has a lot of impact as well.

I would say of those women who have orgasmed from penetration alone, the likelihood of that continuing for a long term relationship that moves beyond the lust and in love stages is probably not great. The likelihood will be greater with proper techniques tailored to the specific woman in each case. Those techniques will be both physical and mood setting. A better and more assured way to get the woman to orgasm in most cases will be to find the key to clitoral orgasm by clitoral stimulation. But it may not be the same ego booster for the guy. This is the same guy who takes credit for her orgasming by penetration but the situation is mostly about her body, her mind and her emotions.

I can, but only after having a clitoral orgasm. They aren't mutually exclusive. And there's no telling whether a vaginal orgasm is helped along by clitoral stimulation - after all, the clitorus is shaped like a wishbone, and could be stimulated by penetration just as much as the vagina is.
