I have never made myself orgasm and neither have any of my partners. Yeah I agree with the above, or stimulate it on one of the sides as well. I think touching it full-on can be too "intense" for a lot of people, myself included.
Keep practicing, and then once you learn it yourself you can teach your partners to do it too.
