Did my hymen actually break?
Today, me and my boyfriend had sex for the first time. We struggled a bit as the awkwardness kind of ruined the mood, he wasn't very erect most of the time but when we did it 'properly' (what i thought broke me anyway) he was. We also used lube and a condom. But i'm wondering if it actually broke, it hurt A LOT but there was something there that felt like it stopped his penis from going fully in (most of it was in but not all) and the pain was too much to try and put it in any further. Is it meant to be like that when it's broken? I keep thinking i have because i did bleed but i'm unsure it did actually break cos it still felt like something was stopping it >< Also, if my hymen DIDN'T break, then why did i bleed? D: Is it something to worry about? D: -
Doesn't sound like something to worry about. It sounds like your hymen probably did break. It's possible you were just too tense for full penetration. Good job on using protection!!!
As this continues to happen you'll both get more comfortable with it. Just be patient, don't do things you're not comfortable with, and be very open and communicate with him. And don't stop using condoms.

Its possible the stopping with hurting was him hitting your cervix. If you were fully aroused there would be a better chance of your cervix moving out of the way slightly so he could penetrate deeper. The best way to have full arousal is for you to have an orgasm by masturbation or him giving you oral. Some positions can keep him from penetrating too deeply if that becomes an issue.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
