Creepy guys are definitely not the norm, but some women lump so called "normal guys" in this category based on misconception or looks alone. Most men have masturbated while fantasizing about a woman they saw at the beach, pool, college, work, grocery store, in a magazine, on TV or in a movie, but that alone doesn't make a guy creepy. If it does, then most men you have been with are creepy. In fact your current male partner is creepy by that misunderstood definition. -
A guy masturbating does not make a guy creepy. The question was not whether or not it happens, because it does happen, the question was how a woman feels about being that object. Walking past a guy thinking nothing of him because he is just another guy in the crowd then thinking that this man is at home using her as an object of his tugging later on is the weird thought. Just because a guy wants to wank to a woman he sees on the street does not mean she is comfortable with the thought of being that woman. She can be fully aware that men masturbate to everything from the woman on the beach, the girl that sold him a coffee that morning or to the photoshopped porn girl on his computer screen but that does not mean a woman feels comfortable knowing that some random guy she saw that day is using her as his fantasy object. That thought of being a prop can be a creepy one.
The only reason I say an attractive man can help ease the thoughts of it being creepy is because if I try to accept the notion it helps, for me, if the guy is attractive and therefore easier for myself to fantasize about the whole idea-I am still not going to run home and masturbate to that but I am talking in the general sense of accepting the idea. I am not able to get off on the thought of anyone thinking about me for whatever their reason is, not my thing, so for me personally making that thought less creepy helps if the man is attractive. There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.Comment

I'm just going to throw my $0.02 in...
I guess I never really thought that guys would get off thinking about the normal, every day girls they see or interact with in a typical day. But it doesn't surprise me now that the thought has crossed my mind. After all, the 'girl next door' or 'Miss Popular in highschool' are pretty popular fantasies for many men (and so many porn flicks hone in on this).... it stands to reason they would think outside the color tv.
And if that gal happens to be me, well ok. I wouldn't say it bothers me. If anything, it justifies taking the time I do in the morning to do my hair and makeup. I'm trying to look attractive, so who am I to be weirded out when a man appreciates that? (so long as they aren't coming up to me and telling me about it lol

Anybody can be an object of another's fantasies, opposite sex or same sex. Shrug.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, VirginiaComment

In some ways fantasizing about a stranger you met on the street is a lot better than fantasizing about a friend or coworker. I could imagine fantasies about a person you see frequently having an effect on how you interact with them in "real" life. You are unlikely to interact again with the random stranger, so this isn't an issue.
I think that in general thinking that a person you are attracted to, is fantasizing about (and therefore attracted to) you is much more pleasant than thinking that a person you find unpleasant is doing the same thing.Comment

I hope all women think like that! And if that gal happens to be me, well ok. I wouldn't say it bothers me. If anything, it justifies taking the time I do in the morning to do my hair and makeup.
