    High sex drive

I'm so thankful I found this site, for the past month my sex drive has skyrocketed and I'm not sure why. I even have some extra weight that I would like to get rid of usually this would squash my sex drive. All I think about is sex, I even want to look at naked men and pictures or movies of men. This is a complete personality change for me and I'm starting to get concerned that I have health issues. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism six months ago but with that I should have a low sex drive. I'm in my late 30's and my husband is 40 and this is causing a little tension between us. He is stressed from work and all I want to do is have sex and not just a quickie. This seems to be consuming my life. Thanks for any input

It could be hormones and could be completely natural for you. At 40 my mother started pre-menopause, and her sex drive went to that of a 20year old. She couldn't get enough and she was enjoying it all the more. The doctors said it was just a part of it all and with time it will dwindle as it does for everyone with age.

Some people say women peak sexually in their 30's and 40's. I've heard lots of stories like yours. It sounds pretty normal.

My experience is that large up and down fluctuations in sex drive over weeks or months is more common in women than men, when not caused by things like work stress or money problems. Having said that, I've known some couples in which the wife/girlfriend began exhausting her husband/boyfriend. If you are being treated by an endocrinologist for your thyroid, it may be time to get your gynecologist involved in a discussion. If not, it may be time to ask your GYN to refer you to an endocrinologist for evaluation.

As a secondary consideration, please keep in mind that your growing insatiability in bed may make your husband feel inadequate sexually and insecure in his ability to satisfy you. Tell him that you aren't going to seek out other men to meet your growing appetite and needs in bed. He needs to hear this.

My ex-wife had what I call her "sexual awakening," which is fine, but unfortunately for me it occurred a couple of years into our marriage. Over the year or two that followed her awakening, she stopped coming home reliably at night and eventually left me, telling me that my sexual equipment and e physical satisfaction I provided was nowhere near sufficient to meet her needs.

Totally normal I think. Not to make it a funny matter or nothing but since becoming single myself after 18 years of marriage, I find that age bracket to be lets say....The most interesting And being 42 myself with a strong sex drive it's perfect!
