There are two ways to approach not having the thought of orgasm enter your mind. One is to blank out your mind. Some people can do that from the beginning. Others can train their minds to do it. To a large degree that's what I do, although I tend to focus on only one thing, such as something about her that caught my eye as being super sexy (it works the same way for men as it does for women!). As an alternate, especially at the beginning, you can distract your mind so you don't obsess over an orgasm. Distract every sense, if possible.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
    ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia

I'll try to keep my mind blanked from that sort of thought and focus on what feels good or what I found appealing. Going to talk with him and suggest all of these ideas to him. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to hear that the problem isn't going to be skirted away anymore. Would love to be able to get to the point where I can be his sex kitten and give him the satisfaction of being able to make me climax.

Thank you both for all of the advice It is appreciated.

On another note, are there ways I can get more comfortable being the one to initiate? Like, ideas or ways I can slowly step outside of my comfort zone and be able to let him know when I would like sex. The few times that I have worked up the courage to initiate, it was either through just kissing or awkwardly asking something along the lines of "Maybe we could do some stuff...?" I know he doesn't like 'dominant' women. Two times when I've felt bold enough, I've tried to initiate by pushing him down into the bed while kissing him and I've tried to walk into the room he was in in a skirt, bra and pigtails (which he's told me before that he likes). Both ended in failure and the second ended in a bit of an argument, which make me hesitant to experiment with ways of initiating and lower my confidence.
