    Reducing Sex Drive?

I really have no interest in being in a relationship, and while I have a relatively low sex drive, I just find it a nuisance. I'd far rather be able to focus on my career without worrying about these needs, especially around ovulation.

I don't want to talk to a doctor about it. Is there any foods or herbal medicines that would reduce it?

I don't want anybody questioning my reasons, I just want advice on what to do.

Certain hormonal birth control will do it. Also, the less sex you have, the less of a drive you have.

i never have sex, rather i just masturbate. Would trying to avoid masturbation reduce the drive?

masturbation is a nuisance if i do it in the morning or during the day, as it makes me really sleepy. I'd really rather not do it at all, but my female parts just scream at me to satisfy them :-(

Your trying to win out against millions of years of evolution good luck with that.

Naturally your horny so trying to stop it might have the opposite affect.

Masturbating gets those chemicals going like oxytocin and others which make you drowsy.

If you new what orgasm was like you would lose your job and just stay in bed.

I don't want anybody questioning my reasons, I just want advice on what to do.
It would be irresponsible of myself and others to tell you what to do, without having some background/ reasons why you feel you must suppress your natural body needs and functions.

I'd really rather not do it at all, but my female parts just scream at me to satisfy them :-(
Be glad you do have body parts that Scream to be Satisfied. There are thousands of people that have no drive, no desire and are in relationships that are wilting and dying from the lack of it .

Also remember " It's not good to fool with Mother Nature " there may be a day to come when you come back here to WH , Complaining that you want a child or closeness with your new Hubby and you have no Drive, because you Suppressed it years ago .

As far as foods or herbal medicines that help lower sex drive in women , You can Google or Bing that subject.
I'm not sure how many people have asked about decreasing their drive and stopping the natural process our bodies tell us that is needed .

Drugs and Alcohol can inhibit the sex drive, but I don't believe that anyone of the thousands of members here would tell you to become a Druggie or Alcoholic, just to avoid your Natural Libido .

          But without asking why ?
Here's a couple of things you could try .

Go ask your/any Priest or Pastor how they refrain from the Natural Urges, I'll bet the unmarried ones masturbate and are very irritated when they get that Woody & Urge to satisfy their Screaming body.
And they have learned to put off that urge, until an appropriate time , ask them how they do it .

If you start getting Wet and Tingly and you just feel the " Screaming, Release me". Think of something Tragic. A Flood or a Fire , Earthquake Tornado or someone in your family being crushed to Death in a accident , Murders, Rapes, Diseases, Your cat or dog having to be put down.

Things that will take that " I Want Sex " thought outta your mind and replaced with some Sorrow or Disgust, Anger, anything but the Desire your Body is asking you for. Of course this will be short lived and your other natural Body needs will come back .

Get a " BOB " ( battery operated boyfriend ) , release yourself just before Bed. Then you have no issues being sleepy

          On a Final Note ********
Which I Severely Doubt that you are ..
If you have the urge to Suppress your Sexual Needs and are trying to suppress them in order to Protect Others, Kids, Society and such .
Go see that DR. Make it a Mental or Sex Therapist Dr.

I actually would be happy being one of those people with no urges at all.

I am nearly 25, and have never had a boyfriend. I have trouble with mood and relating to people (I'm mildly aspergers), and I just would rather not ever be involved in relationships. Nobody would ever go out with me anyway. I don't ever want a husband or kids.

I'd rather just focus on my research (in an area of science) and not worry about all this silly relationship stuff. This is mostly not an issue, except for around ovulation when I start feeling the urges, and I notice guys a bit (who by this age are all taken)

It's easiest to just supress it. It has no useful purpose for me and is only a burden.

Masturbating isn't even satisfying anyway. My mind starts thinking about unrelated things part way through, and any chance of orgasm vanishes. It is just a waste of time.

Perhaps learning to satisfy yourself so you can find the relief you need, without the use of a physical partner or a relationship.

Certain methods of birth control definitely suppress your sex drive, I have had issues with it myself.
Also, you would be surprised how many people out there that would be willing to date a person that doesn't want marriage or children. I don't want marriage or children and I have been with my boyfriend for a little over five years.
I can also totally relate to you distaste in trying to socialize with people. I too find it to be challenging and sometimes not worth the effort. But you are in the field of science (me too! we have so much in common lol) I can't help but think that you are surrounded by a lot of people who are also socially awkward, and you can relate to them on that level perhaps? I only tell you this because although you are socially less inclined to talk to people, you are human and in general humans like to have other humans in their lives. So it might be nice for you to meet someone that has similar interests as you and then you wouldn't have to feel the need to suppress your sexual urges.
Also it probably wouldn't hurt to google "methods of sexual suppression" or something like that and see what you can find. Most women are trying to increase their sex drive and not lower it so I am not sure how many people on here would be able to help you with that.

If one was driven to the extreme, a hysterectomy would likely get rid of any sex drive and would get rid of the ovulation "problem". Most would not go to such an extreme, but a tiny minority would. That is a one way journey. Hysterectomies are usually done for other reasons, some of which are life threatening.
