'Stress management'??? That's a good one. I'll have to remeber that the next time my fiancee catches me doing something I shouldn't!

OP, whilst the wearing of womens clothing ('crossdressing') is not really mainstream behaviour, it has slowly become more socially acceptible - at least here in the UK where we have less religious extremism than some of the USA.

However it's still predominantly done behind closed doors (from the documentary I watched, which certainly doesn't make me an expert on the subject) because it's often associated with a sexual thrill and sexual thrills are (or should be) best conducted in a discreet manner.

You ask 'do women like it' which is a horrendously generalised question to ask. You are a woman. Do YOU like it? Do you think that all women (or all men for that matter) think the same.

And no it doesn't happen just because a man has not had sex for a long time. That's what porn is for...

Lack of sex doe not turn a man into a crossdresser. A desire to wear womens clothing is what leads a man to crossdress. Well, I have to assume that, since I've never been into it myself.

I think as kinks go, it's one of the more harmless things. certainly safer than BDSM and less emotionally risky than swinging, etc.

But I have to thank you because I now have a mental image of a high-powered CEO sitting behind his huge desk, wearing suspenders and patent high heels. His secretary walks in and gives him a shocked look. He replies "It's all right Sandra; my therapst says that a bit of crossdressing is good for stress management!"

Are blindfolds, handcuffs, spanking and calling your partner Master or Mistress unsafe? Or are you making a horrendously generalized statement?

Yes I realise that, but consider that wearing high heels and panties doesn't require the use of a 'safe word'

apologies for the generalisation. I realise that BDSM is not necessarily dangerous, but wanted to make a point. Sorry for any offence.

Oh and whilst I'm here, yes I would categorise the use of handuffs as potentially quite risky.

          But that's just my opinion.

Not risky unless he\she goes to work and forgets you there!

Or if someone slips and falls, but they're handcuffed to something and they break their wrists whoops!
**I know I'm not helping sorry.

                  1) Crossdressing has been going on for freaking ever. Seriously. Ages. Shakespeare plays are well-known for having all the female characters portrayed with men in feminine clothing.

                  2) There are women crossdressers, as well as male crossdressers. Some women enjoy it. Some don't. Personally, I think it's **** sexy, doing it or watching someone else do it, but that's my opinion.

3)No. It could arise from curiosity-turned-enjoyment, a desire to actually be female, random spur-of-the-moment, any number of things.

                  4) I suppose if you felt that you were meant to be female, it would relieve you of some stress to dress in feminine clothing so the outer-self reflects the inner. I guess that could be stress management?
