Christian with problems about sexual thoughts
I have been brought up christian. I decided not to get involve in sex or toughing myself for religious reasons and i never have. This last few weeks though I have thought about it more for soem reason. One day last week i actually felt a buzzing feeling and went really hot around the time i was thinking about getting changed (when on a bus). I went home and forgot about it but later i found my tights were a mess (embarrassing). How do you others deal with it particularly if you are a Christian. Is it possible to go through life without thinking about it or having much of a reaction to it? -
Off course.
You are a woman, you have hormones and there is nothing to be ashamed of, thinking of getting changed, and getting excited within yourself.. embrase it, it's natural.
It is your choice when you decide to have sex.. But, you will find that you may explore your own body in the meantime and experience things that you hadn't before.
I see no harm, or wrong with exploration or feeling sexual.. The act itself is what you believe is wrong, with another human being...PUT A LITTLE 'LIKE' IN MY SOUL!Comment

Sarah,
I understand that you have made a decision based on religious preferences. It may help if you clarify your position. Are you planning to remain celibate as a life calling, or are you choosing to abstain from sexual relations and self exploration until you marry?
I'm not sure how to answer this question. If you are planning a total celibate life, I would think that eventually you 'condition' yourself to suppress urges. Is it possible to go through life without thinking about it or having much of a reaction to it?
I agree with CW, your body functions and operates by hormonal excretions. Many woman experience more moisture/discharge during ovulation. That is a normal body function. I'm not sure that there is anything you can do to eliminate this hormonal fluctuation and its effects on the body.
Christians get married and have very healthy sex lives. Being a Christian does not mean that you are ordained to a mundane sex life. Of course, if you are choosing a celibate life, that changes the dynamics of the answers you may receive.Comment

Sarah, my situation is slightly different because I'm married. What some people won't tell you is that marriage doesn't necessarily guarantee resolution of issues with lust. I've had and still do have major issues with sex since I was a teenager. Initially it was with masturbation and then pornography. The only thing that has ever worked for me was praying to Jehovah in Jesus' name before I looked at pornography and masturbated. I still remember the day I first did it about 12 years ago. It was only one of a handful of times that I felt God's spirit change my mental inclination suddenly like that. It was unexpected as I didn't know that God worked that way. You can read it in the Bible all you want, but feeling it is an entirely different thing. From there on out it was just a matter of maintaining.
I don't know the answer to your question about not ever thinking about it or having a reaction. As some of the others mentioned, some things, like moisture are natural and good and can't be fought without harming your body. I do know that we can please God. I have had issues like with the masturbation. But I've never touched or even flirted with another woman besides my wife, although our relationship leaves me unfulfilled. There are practical things we can do, like staying away from things that will poison our minds. Pornography, masturbation, erotic movies/books/magazine/etc. will excite you more. Also filling our minds with good things is necessary. So regular Bible reading and continued prayer are invaluable. I've heard that not wearing tight clothes and sleeping on your side are helpful, but I can't speak from experience on those."Those sowing seed with tears
Will reap with a joyful shout." - Psalm 126Comment

There are a lot of variations in christian beliefs. While almost all condemn adultery, most do not condemn all sexual behavior or thoughts. You are of course free to have your own beliefs, but I haven't seen anything in the bible that I interpret as disallowing all sexual thoughts. A lot hinges on the definition of "sexual immorality" as used in the bible. I don't think it is clearly defined anywhere.Comment
