This is my first post on here but I guess I will just explain the situation I'm in. ****Please no judgement****

So I started my period yesterday but since it wasn't that heavy my boyfriend and I went through with our plans to have sex. He isn't bothered by my period so he agreed to just have sex like we planned.
I HAVE AN ALLERGY TO LATEX so we use the "skyn non-latex polyisoprene" condoms with the "cvs brand water based lubricant". We have been using these products for quite some time (almost a year) with no irritation; they have worked for us so I don't know why I would have any irritation NOW (after using the products for a while).
But yesterday when we went to have sex, it hurt A LOT when he put it in so we just assumed it was because we hadn't done it in a few weeks because that happens sometimes. So he just kept going slowly but the pain never got better and eventually the outside started burning. It felt like I was dry and the friction was irritating me so we used the lube.
Finally I couldn't take the pain anymore and told him to stop and try without the condom to see if it made a difference. It made a small difference, it didn't burn/hurt as much. But when I got home last night and showered I noticed it started getting very itchy down there (inside and out) so I figured it was the condom but I'm not sure.
So basically, my problem is it's all itchy down there (inside and out) but I don't know if it's from the condom or if the irritation is just from my period (yeast infection, heat rash from pad, etc..). If it is from the condom will it go away without a doctor?
I would really appreciate it if someone could please help me. Any answers/insight helps me a bunch. I can't go to a doctor because I am only 16 and my parents CAN NOT know that I had sex.

Dear don't panic. First please go to a good gynecologist at the earliest. Have a complete examination with culture tests taken. Now for the condoms , since you were using the non-latex type and a water based lubricant then the probability is very less that they are the culprits. Kindly check one thing about their usage; when the condoms are unrolled do they unroll completely. If this is not the case then you are left with a circular ring at the base, which is slightly thicker now. This is very often the cause of irritation as it strikes and slides against sensitive areas.

I can't go to a gynecologist. I live with my dad and there aren't any gynecologists in the area that take our insurance. But yeah the condom doesn't usually roll all the way down but what do I do about that? And I'm pretty sure that this is a yeast infection and since I can't get to a gynecologist, when I end my period should I just try treating this as a yeast infection?

Hey, it could be the fact that your hormones are extremely different during your period and you've developed a yeast infection. There are tests you can buy at walmart that tell you if it's a yeast infection or something else. Many times when I wash with the wrong soap or doing anything slightly irritant before my period I'll give myself a yeast infection, so now I just watch it very carefully. I suggest you go get that test, and find out for sure that it is a yeast infection before you treat it as that. You don't want to put that medicine in your body if you don't need it.

Can I take one of those tests while I'm on my period or do I have to wait until it ends? And do you know how much those tests usually cost? But thank you for the information, I will definitely see what I can do.

Get some brags apple cider vinegar(ACV)-or any naturally fermented ACV.
Take a tablespoon with a glass of water (rinse mouth after drinking it) morning and night. Google apple cider vinegar and Yeast infection.
Make sure any condoms you use don't have the spermicide Nonoxynol-9 as this would also potentially cause these symptoms.

The tests run around ten dollars I think, maybe fifteen at the most. PLEASE DON'T TREAT IT AS A YEAST INFECTION, it could throw off an imbalance even more, not to mention it will burn like hell. What are your symptoms as of today?

Ok. Can I take the test while I'm on my period or do I have to wait? And as of today it still itches a lot but sometimes after I go to the bathroom and wipe it burns after like it doesn't like being touched or messed with. But as of now, can I rule out condom allergy? Because like I said earlier, I have been using the same condoms and it never caused a problem like this.

Depending how heavy your period is, it may be best to wait until you're off. Sometimes the blood can mask the infection making it harder for the test to pick it up. How many days left until its done? It honestly doesn't sound like a reaction to the condom, like I said I think that was probably just the last factor that threw off the balance. The burning and itching sound like a yeast infection but if you're almost off your period I would just wait. You should take some ibuprofen for pain, and last time something like this happened to me the doctor told me to use cortisone for the itching and it helped until the medication worked. Try to avoid a lot of sugar just in case it's a yeast infection.
