    Offended during sex

So my boyfriend and I were having sex.. and when I went to change positions, in a joking voice he says, "Babe are you pregnant?".. Huh? I said..."Your stomach looks big" When he said this my jaw dropped and I immediately moved away and said we're stopping. 5 seconds later, tears formed. I'm not sure why or if this is even normal. Although he's never insulted me about my body, he's not one to give compliments and make me feel sexy either. I admit that I've been a bit self conscious about my weight lately which is why I may have broke down over this. But I just feel like the last thing a girl wants to hear from her man is something insulting during sex. IDK. If i'm overreacting, please let me know. Im just afraid that now I'll always have his comment in the back of my mind when we're having sex and i'll constantly be worried about how I look to him and what he's thinking.

    Your bf is being unkind.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
    ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia

That is unkind. Ask him how he would feel if you made a personal remark about a part of his body during sex?

Has he done anything like this before? Sometimes people just accidentally say hurtful things - intended to be funny, or just without thinking. If there is a pattern of him insulting you that is different.
