First off I want to apologize incase this is TMI! (Also we are in our 20's and have been dating for a few years) My boyfriend & I had sex the morning of Sept 8th & i started bleeding later that night. I'm on the depo shot & he used a condom. During I noticed it kept feeling a little weird well it's now sept 18th and I'm still bleeding. It wasn't too bad the first day or two then it almost stopped and now it's really bad & dark red. With the depo shots you never have your period maybe just a little bit of spotting here and there but this is way more than spotting so I know i know I didn't get my period early since I don't have them. Also we are both clean no stds or anything
I'm going to the doctor at the end of the month but in the meantime i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and knows what's going on. I'm starting to freak out a little bit.

Try going over to the birth control forum and reading the threads on the depo shots. A lot of people experience bleeding on it. One recent thread was by someone who'd been on it for 3 years and then suddenly started bleeding, apparently it was because she'd become immune to it.

Could be the reason? Otherwise, from what I've heard, it can cause a lot of side affects and they can be very different from one person to another, and its possible you're just experiencing that. Do go to the doctor and get it checked out though. In the meantime, I would use condoms if you're going to have sex, to be on the safe side.

Thank you very much! I have been on depo for almost 5 years so about that same as her so that could possibly be the problem I will make sure to bring that up when I see the doctor it might be time to switch to something else. Thank you!
