No, I totally get the beauty of "grace under fire", but this seems beyond that to me.
I can say, if that were my sil, and she touched me like that, I'd be less than gracious in my response, and I wouldn't apologize.

It'd be different if she were a friendly or even a neutral sil, but her aggressive, two-faced "style" removes any privileges with me in my mind.

But I do sympathize with sagf, actually. I took a lot of crap from my in-laws years ago. It's a difficult position to find yourself in.

atskitty2, she composed herself in the best way possible given setting and circumstances. Your spunk is awesome though.

My SIL, on the day she was going to meet my parents for the first time (almost 20 years ago and I'm not even a teen yet), flew in from Virginia with my brother. My dad goes to LAX airport to pick them up and guess what. On the way to our place she asks for Mcdonalds. My dad responds saying that she should hold tight for half an hour because his wife (my mom) prepared a huge supper for everyone. Well, my SIL insisted and my dad got her the McDonalds.

This is disturbing for multiple reasons. First, she new my mom was battling late stage breast cancer (a battle she lost), and she still had the nerve to eat fast food. My mom slaved to make would she made (it was a big deal for her) and she didn't hold back. The feast was lavish. Of course when my SIL got to our place, she didn't touch the food because she was already full on the trash she ate half an hour ago. Totally disrespectful.

I personally am surprised she was clueless enough to persist with my dad. It sort of takes guts. My dad isn't a mean guy, but if any of you seen the Lion King, he has this Mufasa presence about him. Even my GF agrees. When I was a kid I always called him Mufasa behind his back. He can be intimidating, has that deep voice, and can be very stoic. He's like a lion. So she has balls... but is a total jerk. My mom was deeply offended. I mean within minutes she already buried herself a deep hole.

SA -- where was your brother during this discussion? He didn't say "maybe you should wait dear . . . ". I find it equally bizarre since they walked through a terminal at LAX and she could have gotten a bag of chips or something small to eat while waiting . . . and waiting . . . and waiting for luggage.

Next time SIL pinches SAGF's butt, SAGF should be instructed to slap SIL's face in a very very public way. The bee-ach deserves nothing less

It still sounds bizarre ....she grabbed SAGF's butt, like fondling style? Or was it like a light pat to test the tone? If a non-friendly groped me like that they'd be off their feet pretty quick. A pat down ....not sure but I'd probably challenge it like "excuse me why did you just touch my butt?" I know circumstances are always unique and I'm not finding fault with SAGF (because she's perfect in every way! ), just kinda thinking out loud.

Everyone seems to be caught up on the butt thing. I get it. From what/how I described it, it would seem like the butt grab was the worst offense. My GF cried not because of the butt grab, but because of her words (there is a lot she says that is seriously mean, but coated with a very thin layer of kindness).

The grab happened when we first got there (I didn't see it). My SIL came up from behind and greeted my GF and did like a quick grab of her butt at the same time. She does crap like that. She always sneaks behind people to say hi. She comes up behind me and pinches my waist and says hi all the time. I seriously hate her and it just pushes my bro and me apart. She has also changed him a lot too. He's gone from a gentleman to trash.

I have an aunt that used to work for NASA (so she is really smart) and at the end of the evening, when my SIL had already left, she told my GF how beautiful she looked but apologized for not saying earlier because certain people (my SIL and bro) were around. That was smart of her to perceive it the way she did.

That was nice of your aunt. SIL sounds like a typical passive-aggressive type ("Oh my, your hair is so pretty and it covers up that horrible scar on your neck really well."). Those are the worst kind because it's more of a challenge to treat them like hostiles when they're only passively hostile. Plus they specialize in shifting blame so that if you react like you're being attacked, they put on the "Relax, why are you acting crazy?" routine. Hate that, so I sympathize with you and your awesome GF SumSum. Everyone seems to think she's beautiful tho so at least that's a comfort.

Yes Jen, that hair comment is soo her!

Btw, I got my GF flowers last night and in return she hit my balls repeatedly . She obviously loves me if she hits my balls, right?

Well she responded to your affectionate gesture by beating you ....yep, that's true love. What more could you ask? She's perfect in every way.
