As I've said, I'm not having sex so these answers are based on past experiences. I'm not big on masturbation...

Right now, not very often. Not even weekly.

Probably 10

via masturbation, maybe 10-15 seconds. With an attentive partner, I bet it's double that.

I have an additional question for you ladies. Have your orgasms changed as you've aged? And if yes, how? Mine are much less intense and harder to reach. I first noticed it about 5 yrs ago. I'm hoping and thinking it correlated to the marital problems but I'm just not so sure anymore.

Interesting question about orgasm change ....I think the common wisdom is that women's sexual peak is in the mid 30s - early 40s, so you should be in it. It's hard to try to diagnose you hon but the first thing that pops to mind is indeed marital strife. Has that affected your overall mindset?

I really can't hype masturbation enough btw. It could be the answer to those problems or at least the road to getting ahead of them, and it really does help to firm up your personal sexual identity, which is in turn helpful to overall sexual satisfaction. (Feeling sexy, confidence, all that.) If you need tips, just let me know. Why aren't you big on it, if I can ask?

btw I think a related question I should have asked is how would you (everybody) rate your overall sexual satisfaction? Could shed some light on whether orgasm quality/frequency directly relates to big picture satisfaction. You might think it's obvious it would, but women are complicated.

Jen, I think for me it's usually the intimacy I am after, not the orgasm, which is why I rarely masturbate. I crave a man...a person to be with, not just the euphoria of orgasm. Broad shoulders...I miss touching a man! Lol

I genuinely believed the loss of intensity was the marital problems, for that reason above...but last time I did masturbate it wasn't at all what it used to be. I too, thought I should be at my peak...my desire isn't less, for sure!

Kitty, that's me too. I love the interaction with a man (I also love the broad shoulders). I don't have these explosive orgasms. Maybe if I did I would feel differently. But I LOVE sex. Everything about it. The touching, the physical closeness, the naughtiness, the giving up control, the taking control, the braking of social norms, etc. I can orgasm with toys almost all the time, and never with intercourse. But I prefer intercourse because it encompasses all the aspects I mentioned. And I'm not talking love. I like one night stands too just for the heck of it. Maybe it's the idea that I am breaking social conventions of what is expected of me as a "decent" woman. Sex is so much more than the O. In fact, the orgasm is like coffee at the end of a big meal. Nice to have, but really don't miss it if I can have the rest of the meal.

Until last summer - usually a few a month, When I had my big "awakening" for while it was like about 4 sessions a day. Then for a while I started to play a long time with what I called mini-o's (felt great and ejaculating but less of my normal spasmy (bigger) O's (although I have finally started to having maybe 1 or 2 a day (or a couple at a time about once a day).

What I call the mini-o's (above) I couldn't count but at least dozens - for a while I was masturbating several time a day and up to a couple hours at night (gosh I needed sleep!) . Regular - maybe 5?

Not to play Dr. Drew/Laura/Phil, but I think a little flirty interaction can do wonders for that. Sexy text messages, sexy e-mails, those little unexpected surprises during the day ....we're very emotionally intelligent so when we get activated that way, the connection to sexuality can be almost immediate. So what I'm saying is if you had something like that (which doesn't even have to mean a physical relationship with someone), you might suddenly find your orgasms dramatically rejuvenated. I think it's only natural to assume they're connected to human interaction ultimately and not just standalone events. So start up a flirt with someone sister!

btw I do understand what you and sp say about sex and intimacy. I've always thought women were so much more sophisticated than men because of that ....I don't know many guys who would be satisfied sexually without getting off.
