Should direct, strong clitoral vibration lead to orgasm?

Have questions about vibrator use or loss of sensitivity?

    We have more answers!

Read our full article, “Can Vibrators Desensitize Or Damage My Clitoris, Or Vagina?” here:

I had had a lot of trouble orgasming.

One thing I have tried is holding a vibrator on my clitoris. This causes my legs to shake like crazy and I feel like I'm going to scream. It isn't painful, it just feels so strong, and I end up feeling overwhelmed, and pulling it away. I kinda worry I might lose control with screaming and moaning. What I wonder is what would be likely to happen if I continued? Would it lead to a massive orgasm? Or could it do damage to my clitoris?

If I hold the vibrator near my clitoris, such as on my labia or clitoral hood, it just isn't satisfying enough, if I leave it there for ages then it feels kinda good, but it doesn't really lead to any kind of build up, and I want it to be more intense. After about 10 - 15 minutes, my labia just feel numb and uncomfortable.

If it would likely lead to an orgasm to keep it on my clitoris and not pull it away, I wonder if i should use a strap on vibrator or clit-pump with vibrator so that I can keep it on and keep my hands away from it?

Or, what should I do? I'm really frustrated and I really want to be able to have orgasms, particularly given that I will eventually want to be able to enjoy sexual relationships without having to worry that I cannot orgasm.

I fantasize and stuff, and i've tried porn, and while it is enjoyable, I still can't build up the tension enough.

    I'm 25 by the way, a virgin.

Give it a try and see what happens - it might be a revelation.

I really doubt you'll hurt yourself, assuming you don't have any other related health issues. Some people might worry about desensitization, but trying it 'all the way' won't do that in one go.

Honestly it sounds like the lead-in to a mind-blowing orgasm, altho I should point out that women vary so much physiologically that there's no way for someone else to say for sure. Whatever the case, if you try it, let us know what happens. We don't hear about enough happy endings around here.

I wouldn't go hands-free btw ....it sounds like you need pretty fine control of how much and where, and your hands are the best tools for that.

Oh one other tip - you have to let go of the noise worries. Are you somewhere that it would be a problem to scream? Point is, holding back does not go hand-in-hand with the 'surrendering' you may have to do to cum completely freely, which is what you really want. Half-orgasms are nice, but real ones that bring down the walls can change your life. So I strongly suggest you go ahead and let your body do whatever it wants. If you can make that connection, it tends to be like riding a bike - you'll have it forever after that and orgasmic bliss will be a part of your everyday life. Lucky you if you can do it, and welcome to the club!

You won't hurt yourself. Some people have temporary numbness from the strong stimulation but it will go away if you skip masturbating for a couple days before you have sex with someone.

I also highly doubt that you will hurt yourself but you might want to try holding it there and then removing it. Kind of like teasing yourself to allow the tension to build up slowly. Too much of the vibrator on one spot can lead to some numbness so its good to switch up the pressure and the place. Please let us know what works for you!

Desensitization is possible though. I'm not sure how much it takes to have that effect, but it does seem to happen.

sounds to me like the vibe you have is too strong for you. every woman is different and each have different vibe preferences. the hitachi wand is a very strong vibe and some women love it, some women hate it. for your vibe, try it over your underwear. it may tone it down enough to work for you.
