Was not passing judgement. Was explaining how the whole sex-in-public thing applied to the relationship my gf and I have. And I was just expressing agreement with another poster about exposing oneself to kids. To be honest, I was not sure I knew exactly what you meant by "outside movie." So, I couldn't really speak on your situation anyway.

What I probably should have added was that my gf's judgement for where to do it in public (if she had it her way) sort of sucks. Her ideas for spots are saturated with kids. But I still love her to death and she's going to be the one I marry

I'm all for protecting kids, but I don't think its a huge problem if they do catch a couple having sex, there are far more damaging things out there.

I don't for a moment think that this is what Patti was doing otherwise each sexual encounter that mankind has would be considered rutting away like an animal. If you read what has been written, it was "outside" not in front of people. You can have sex in public without being in front of people or children and can still be outside of the bedroom. Discretion is the better part of valour, but can still be erotic and titillating at the same time.

Patti, not sure you need don the mantle of apologist here.

Before Ms lorr arrived on the scene and decried rutting like crazed weasels in public, two others had confessed to the impugned behavior. Sparty got the ball rolling, offering that his choice would "be up against the window of a condo on the 30th floor over looking downtown Chicago on a Friday night." It's not outside the realm of possibility that kids or families could be in sight of that spectacle. Indeed, Sparty appears to have contemplated same, offering that such choice of venue would be his "defiantly". Now I don't know if that modifier was selected with care, or if the word "definitely" was intended, but "defiantly" suits. I suspect Ms. lorr would consider having sex in a condo window exposed to an urban landscape as being "defiant" of civilized mores.

Next, Motorguy stepped up and admitted to getting frisky on Diamond Head Beach. Perhaps not quite so outré a selection as the condo window, but again, it could be regarded as risking exposure to kids/families. He said no one was around, but I doubt his attention was focussed on the distant surroundings and who could be lurking in the shadows, or enjoying a view of the evening sky (and who-knows-what-else) through the lens of a telescope.

And then along comes Patti, who volunteers the movie-in-a-park setting. If a movie was being shown, most likely it was dark and I would wager that any kids/families who stumbled across Patti and bf in said darkness would not catch much view of anything.

Perhaps I am missing something, but all seem to agree that Patti is the target of the criticism. To me, that is less than clear. If nothing else, it should be shared equally with Sparty and Motorguy. Shame on you all! Well, not really.

Maybe I am bereft of moral fiber, but I happen to see little wrong in any of the admitted or proposed scenarios. Ms lorr is entitled to her views, perhaps shared by many, but I find myself leaning more towards the camp of recoreyus. A kid catching a glimpse of sexual activity is unlikely to leave life-long scars or lead to juvenile delinquency, anomie, or other ills.
