Sex and soccer: Should teams abstain during the World Cup

A lot of teams have banned their players from having sex during the FIFA world cup. A lot of professional athletes do practice abstinence during a big game/match/fight.

Personally, I'm not sure how scientific this is.

What are your thoughts?

i think it is an incredible idea to abstain during every sporting event because it will dramatically increase odds of winning. before and after, have all the sex you want as long as it doesn't interfere with training and recovery.

You don't want to be overly relaxed for a game. You want to be alert with a light tension to the muscles for fast reactions. We always wind up ourselves and our horses in to a tense state right before running a speed event so there's lots of coiled energy to explode in to speed and turns.

I would think though early night (not late so it cuts in to sleep) before game sex would be fine. Relax and sleep so you can wake up with plenty of energy and excitement the next day. Just so long as you don't overdo it.

Well yes you never want to over do many things. Like drinking the night before the big game or sex or staying up to late. So you dragging the next day messes up the whole team or yourself.
