I am soon to be sexually active with my long term boyfriend. I am a teen with over strict parents, where it would be hard to get on birth control. My boyfriend and I have had long serious conversations about contraceptives and I was wondering how safe It would be to use a condom using it perfectly by learning how to correctly, along with spermicide. We also don't plan on doing it more than 3 or 4 times a year because we want it to be special. Would this be too risky to do without being on birth control? I'll respond to this post although you have posted in two separate places. First of all, congratulations in taking the time to be responsible by talking things through with your boyfriend without just having an oops moment. Using a condom in conjunction with spermicide can be an effective method of preventing conception. There are some precautions though. It will do no good if you have intercourse and then he puts on the condom just prior to ejaculation. There is something called pre-cum and it can contain sperm. If it is deposited near the entrance or just inside the vagina you could still get pregnant. So he should wear the condom from start to finish. The spermicide will help though.

Secondly, it would be really beneficial if you were able to see a doctor. Where do you live and how old are you. I know that many free-clinics will provide a prescription for birth control if you are at least 16 years old. This would be without parental consent. You may want to check out the rules and regulations in your area. However, even if you get a prescription for birth control you need other protection for a couple of months until it "kicks" in.

I think it's a lofty aim to say you will only be having sex a couple of times a year and that you want to keep it special. It's generally been my experience (my own, my daughters, my friends) that this is a very difficult time-table. Chances are once you begin to have sex you will probably have it regularly.

Well first of all I assuming you are under 18 living with your parents. I am not going to be a hypocrite and say I didn't have sex under 18 i did but I did use condoms the girls I was with was on birth control. But you having strict parents i subjects you don't. The main reason you not on the pill with condoms they can break and all it takes it one good swimmers to get you pregnant. Plus saying you only going to do it 3 or 4 times it only takes once to get pregnant. So if you worried about getting pregnant, I say don't go this far with having intercourse unless you can get on birth control or the morning after pill or the shot. But seeing your parents not in for this I see it not a smart idea.Just so you know I do know what i am talking about. I am a dad of 4 daughters I have two grand daughters so I know how your parents feel. So I really hope you think about this decision and when you are 18 off on your own then you can get your birth control pills and enjoy sex with your boy friend. Condoms are super effective as long as you use them correctly. And that is where the issue lies. Most folks make some classic mistakes. Check out your local Planned Parenthood for free information. Their website is really good too.

The pill is the same. It's super effective if used correctly. You don't have to be on the pill. Condoms are just as effective. Condoms are a type of birth control.

Dont worry enjoy it, condoms will be fine.
Since you are planning it why dont you do it after your period is over it will be less likely or impossible you will be fertile atleast for a couple of days.
With condoms you are safe unless you dont know how to use them. As soon as he finishes he should pull out. penis go limb fast after ejaculation.
If you keep that in mind it will be 100% safe.
If wearing a condom and he pulls out and finish himself off with his hand or you help him do it will be extra safe too.
You could use spermizidal foam or films they disolve int the vagina and it will add up protection so you can relax and have fun.

I have used only condoms for a couple of years and worked fine every time.

The pill works perfectly well too. But destroy some women libido, and its easier they engage in unprotected sex and adds up to STD risks.

Some women have reported long lasting side effects as a result of starting the pill at an early age. Don't get caught up in the moment and skip the condom. If you are wanting to "feel" close to your boyfriend try an oral date. Give him oral to he cums where ever you want him to and then he gives you oral until you cum. Make this an important part of your relationship. I have a friend that told her daughter to only do anal until she found Mr. Right. That way she didn't get pregnant. The girl is only 15. I can't agree with that way of thinking.

I wouldn't agree with that either with telling your daughter to have anal sex so she wouldn't get pregnant. That is not good parenting at all in my book wow i stun by that statement wow.
