    No sex drive

Me and my husband have been married for almost 13 yrs. I am almost 30 years old. Is it normal for a woman to lose her sex drive so early?
My husband has been so supportive but I am getting frustrated with myself.
For about five months now, I haven't wanted sex. Is this normal and what can I do, if anything, to change this?

You are very young. I think you should check out you're thyroid function with you're endocrinologist. Hypothyroidism is extremely prevalent in the western world and a known symptom of hypothyroidism is actually a loss of sex drive.

There are a number of potential causes. Some additional information might help us to give you sound advice. Have you started taking any medication within the last 6 or 7 months? Have there been any changes in your life such as employment or children or birth control etc? Any additional information that you think can be relevant, please let us know.

The desire for sex starts in the brain. Feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, lack of appreciation, loss of direction in life etc will have an impact on your desire for sex. Routine can also be a cause -- sort of "the same old same old" effect. Think about what used to get you in the mood -- for my SO its kissing, for others it could be things your husband can do to take things off of your plate, maybe its a get away to local hotel after a nice dinner -- then try to recreate it.

You have taken the right path, a desire to change the situation.

You mentioned in your intro having 7 kids. That varies a bit from the norm. When you ask if a total absence of sex drive by age 30 is "normal" I think you know the answer. Not too likely anyone here is going to tell you "Oh yes, quite normal my dear. Just accept having no sexual activity for the rest of your life."

The only woman I know that was in similar circumstances to yours ended up with 13 children. So I guess for her, the sex drive did not ebb after the first half dozen or so. I know nothing of your situation, but perhaps an underlying concern about having more children is playing a role. In the case of my acquaintance with 13, her husband was very wealthy and they could afford an enormous house, maids, etc. to help make things easier. If I had to finance the raising of 7 kids, just contemplating that would most likely drive a stake through the heart of my sex drive.

Perhaps Dr. Beethoven has an idea worth pursuing.

To follow up on Beethoven's suggestion, here are the other symptoms of hypothyroidism:

          Fatigue
          Increased sensitivity to cold
          Constipation
          Dry skin
          Unexplained weight gain
          Puffy face
          Hoarseness
          Muscle weakness
          Elevated blood cholesterol level
          Muscle aches, tenderness and stiffness
Pain, stiffness or swelling in your joints
Heavier than normal or irregular menstrual periods
          Thinning hair
          Slowed heart rate
          Depression
          Impaired memory

Well lost of sex drive could be stress from money problems. Just every day life problems with work, family or friends. Some times having a new born takes a while for your body to get back into that sexually mood because women don't feel sexy after child birth and so on. But it all steams to your brain if you not feeling sexy in your mind your body won't want it either. So basically it could be a number of things causing this problem.
When out driving always turn left. Then, should you become lost, you can find your way home by reversing the procedure and always turning right.
