    Pain during and after sex?

So I just got rid of my UTI a few days ago, took my last pill about two days I believe. I have pain during sex since I started becoming active. It's not a constant pain (though it was when I first started, but that was for obvious reasons), it is just pain that will happen randomly during sex. Sometimes it goes away and sometimes it doesn't. There are times I have to ask my partner to stop because it hurts. Even when he begins to insert, I feel some pain. I don't want to have to be devoted on if I have pain or not. This time, though, it not only hurt randomly while we were having sex, but after I hurt so incredibly bad. It felt as if there was a fire in my crotch. I have never had a yeast infection, so I am not sure if that is it? It finally started feeling a little better about thirty minutes after, but burns a little still. We both do not have any STDs and he is the only person I have been active with. I am still fairly new to sex, only been active for about two or three months now. Is there anything I can do? Please help, I want to be able to always enjoy sex!

Are condoms involved? If so, could you be allergic to latex? Use a lubricant like astroglide. You may be wet from arousal, but sometimes that's not sufficient, especially starting out.

Typically, with yeast infections, you may feel a burning sensation, but you'll itch ridiculously bad. I've only contended with yeast infections after having taken antibiotics, which kill both good and bad bacteria. So, yes, if you've just finished a round of antibiotics, you may well be experiencing the beginning of a yeast infection. Drug stores carry over the counter meds. like monstat, but it's never worked for me. A trip to the GYN to get diflucan, two pills, knocks it out almost immediately. Just a suggestion: I've found taking probiotics keeps yeast infections away, even when taking antibiotics.

Condoms were not involved this time where it started burning. We stopped using condoms thinking it was them. Then this happened and I wasn't sure what it was. I asked if I was wet enough and he said it was but I am thinking lubrication might be my next choice.

Definitely add lube. Guys, I'm not stereotyping here. Kitten, I assume you are both fairly young, and when hormones are raging, a young man may think a raindrop constitutes wet. As times goes on, and your body adjusts, you may not need additional lube. That may be a few months down the road…I prefer water based lubes when necessary.

You said you both don't have any STDs, have you both actually been tested? I'm guessing you've been to see a doctor as you said you finished your last tablet for a UTI.....I'd be going back for some more tests because you shouldn't be experiencing this sort of pain. If it's nothing medical it could just be that you aren't aroused enough or lubricated thoroughly which will cause lots of friction and pain.

          Good luck sorting it out.

We are both in our early twenties. I am 20 and he is 23. Who knows, he may think it was a lot and it really isn't! Lol And we both have been tested for stds and nothing came up. The pain finally is gone now but I am always fearful that it will come back the next time around.

              Kitten,

If the pain is gone, I strongly suspect it's a lubrication problem. Being penetrated without PLENTY of lube create a friction that's almost equivalent to carpet burn, except that vaginal tissue is much more sensitive. Try the lube and follow up to let us know if that solves your problem.

              Good Luck
