I am only dry when I'm trying to get wet...

I've been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years now, and we have sex regularly since we've been together. I take an oral birth control every day and have been taking it for around a year. It wasn't a problem for the first half of our relationship, but recently I've been noticing that throughout the day I will be very wet without any arousal whatsoever, but whenever my boyfriend and I are trying to foreplay or have sex, no matter what he does and no matter how much I want it mentally, I am usually dry. Is this because of the birth control, having sex too often, a health issue, not enough hydration, or what? I just don't understand, and it's frustrating for both of us because we can't buy lube (reasons I won't mention, but I wish we could) and then he feels bad because he thinks it's his fault but I know it's not. Lubricated condoms help a little but we don't have the money to buy them all the time. Can anyone help me understand and/or try to fix this? Thanks a ton.

That IS strange. It's possible that you have a mental barrier that keeps you from fully relaxing. I have anxiety issues, and though it's uncommon, I sometimes get anxious during or before sex. My fiancee is wonderful, and I feel pressured to be the best that I can to "repay" him for it, which results in a sudden halt in my wetness. Could that be a component?

That is possible. I'll try to relax more and see if it helps. Thanks
