    What is normal?

    Hey,

I am a 22 year old woman, who is in a serious relationship. I have an incredibly high sex drive, and it can be rather inconvenient. I masturbate anywhere between 1 and 5 times a day, sometimes for an hour at a time. I will eventually have an orgasm, and feel some sort of relief, but the desire comes back almost right away.

I have sex with my partner, but they aren't always as interested in sex as I am. And when we do have sex, it still doesn't quite satisfy me. It can be fun, fulfilling sex, but I am still left wanting more. I am not sure what to do about it. I sometimes think about sex all day long, and I will find my mind drawn to it at inconvient times.

Is that normal? Is there anything I can do?

    I don't think there's a "normal" about sex.

You have a high sex drive, that's all. About guys, take responsibility. Don't accept sex you aren't satisfied with. Tell them exactly what you want. Teach them what you like, how they can please you.

Try to learn about your body, the things you like, the things you don't. You can do this alone.

If your difficulty is with reaching orgasm: are you stimulating your clitoris? That's how most of the women who have orgasms have them. If that's the way to please you, teach your partners how you like it.

Now, if your partner sex drive doesn't fit yours, is it a relationship you can maintain? Sex seems to be an important part of your life.

Beware of porn video addiction. Don't fall into that.

And play safe. Protection is a must, at all times.

I have a few questions for you.

Does this bother you? Cause you discomfort? Interfere with other parts of your life?

Do you feel pain from constant arousal? If so, you may have something called Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder. It is extremely rare and one a specialist who works in sexual dysfunctions will be able to diagnose you.

If it's just a matter of your's and your partners libidos being different, then there is nothing abnormal about the situation. Many women have high sex drives.

        Raindancer:
It isn't a matter of my partner not being able to please me, or even that I cannot reach orgasm. I can have 3 or 5 or 10 orgasms in a day, and 30 mins later I feel horny again. I do all sorts of clitoral stimulation, with and without toys, alone and with a partner. I have worn out vibrators in under a month.

I love my partner very much, and we are a very good match in so many ways. I don't know if any person can really satisfy me. I have had sex with men and women, and still I have this problem. So is it fair to either of us for me to end an otherwise healthy relationship?

        DreamP346:
I don't usually experience physical pain. It's more that everything in my mind will be sexual, and even when I am working I will have difficulty pulling my thoughts away from sex. So it does interfere, but in a different way. The only physical inconvience is when I get wet from my thoughts.

There is. The tricky thing is finding them and having them also be a suitable mate in the other important ways.

I had a girlfriend that was a great match libido-wise, but things didn't work out. The woman I married is perfect, except for the libido. The people who find the whole package are specially blessed as far as I can figure.

It doesn't sound like you have any kind of disease or disorder. You just have a high sex drive. It's part of the human experience for a lot of us. We didn't get to be 7 billion+ because sex is just a nice thing to do once in a while. Believe me when I say that I'm not minimizing that because I know how frustrating it can be. Instead of just playing with the sex between your legs, you have to learn to work the biggest sex organ we all have, which also happens to be the most flexible of machines in existence. Get control of your mind. Manage your thoughts. I don't know of any other way.

Also, join the club. Dream mentioned the many others who have this problem. Quite a few have posted on this site. Use the search feature. Read them. Just seeing others like you will help.

Only you can answer this question. On the one hand, you seem to say sex in on your mind all the time. On the other hand, you say you're a good match with a man who isn't satisfying that side of you. If you can forever repress your desires, by all means, it's your choice. Only you know.

Does he know about it? It's an important part of you.

            Good luck.
