Womens itchy symptoms after new boyfriend

My GF's daughter told her mother that she now has a itchiness only around her private area (outside on skin and pubic hair region) but only notices while in the shower. Weird or normal? She started seeing a old boyfriend a couple months ago (she don't live with us). She has not gone for a check up yet. She says her boyfriend has no such itchiness. Apparently she has no other symptoms except for this itchiness in the shower.
She does not think her BF has been sleeping around. He admits to having brief sexual relationships with two women since they were previously a couple. She is suppose to go for a check up this week.

Well itchiness is often associated with crabs, aka lice, but I would have her see her gyno. That's really an area where you don't want to be guessing about medical issues.
