Staying wet is definitely a pitfall of shower sex. The silicone lubes will stay with you much longer in such an environment but require application which can be disrupting unless you make it part of the play.

We've gotten away from water based lubes entirely b/c they get sticky and require re-application.

maybe it's cause our shower is small, but I was very frustrated with shower sex also. I love the idea as I love the shower and the wet and the warm, but when it comes down to actually doing it, is so not as hot as in my head

Personally, its nice, but I hate getting my hair wet. Then I have to restyle all over again. I like hot tub or the jacuzzi better. Nice and warm, really sexy, without messing up the do !!
