If it happens again, check the side effects of all the medications you take, especially blood pressure meds. Sometimes a person can take a medication for years without side effects, then suddenly, for no reason, they will get side effects.

Well, there are many causes (physical and psychological) for erectile dysfunction. Your diabetes and overweight can both contribute to your sexual problems. My guess is it's either poor circulation to your genitals and/or low libido. Losing weight and exercising on a regular basis (3+ days a week) will sure help. You may also discuss medications with your doctor.

yes, I do agree with the side effects thing with other medicines. Here you can read some plus points and side effects of all the gra medicines. I hope you are enjoying your sexual life without medicines now.
My husband had same problem and it was cause of accessive weed smoking he do everyday. He had high BP with it which made him end up with a ED problem. After consultation with Dr. he left smoking, did workout to reduce weight, sorted bp with medicines an healthy diet. Now he perform well

Update - the rest of 2016 was fine and no problems, but once again it has reared its ugly head
I haven't been able to maintain an erection during sex at all this year... usually goes soft upon entering wife....
she didn't help the situation last weekend by saying "you need to see a doctor"
I've done a bit of research and yes I believe my diabetic control (or lack of it) recently has been to blame - I blame the extra food / drink over the Christmas period!
I also looked up Viagra / Cialis and with Viagra you sort of need to plan sex as it takes 30 minutes for the pill to do it's thing.... I doubt wife will want to just 'wait around' for 30 minutes for me to be ready as we prefer sex when it's spontaneous....
I've been walking and swimming quite regularly, so really making an effort to get the weight down.
