Typically my period lasts 5 days. I got my period on the 19th, and it finished on the 23rd. Three days later with no bleeding, I noticed a small reddish brown stain on my underwear, but didn't think much of it as I assumed it may have just been left over discharge from my period. Today when I went to the toilet, I noticed slightly watered down blood on the toilet paper. Upon further inspection, the blood appears to be quiet fresh, so it couldn't possibly be remains from my previous period, could it? It's as though I have a rather light period. I've been feeling very slightly light headed but I've had a long week of work and put it down to exhaustion. Today I noticed very minor cramps also. Why am I bleeding even after my period?

Could it have anything to do with pregnancy? I assume not because, well, I had my period... I did have unprotected intercourse with my boyfriend on the 14th and 19th before my period started. He pulled out, though I am aware that's no guarantee against pregnancy.

EDIT My boyfriend has had Chlamydia before, but was treated. It's been about a year since. Does it come back, and could this be the cause?

sometimes the uterus doesn't get rid of all the old blood during your normal period
so it's your uterus trying to get rid of what's left over
however, if this keeps happening every month, it might be time to go to Dr and get checked to make sure not something else

This is the first time it's happened. I took the photo only a few hours ago. There is still minimal blood when I check.

Hey Ceeedz, this type of thing isn't terribly uncommon. My guess is that is has probably stopped by now. Is that accurate? Sometimes I would think my period ended completely, only the next day to have started again briefly.

So to follow up on this. Yes the bleeding did stop on the 27th, but I'm just noticed very light blood stains once again on my underwear today. I'm wondering if it's possible that it may even be a cut inside the vagina from fingering? I don't feel any sort of cut though. Would it be very sensitive if I did happen to have a cut? Could the pink stains be considering "spotting"? I've been feeling extremely light headed just today also. Both these symptoms seem to coincide...
