    Your sexual Orientation?

Mine is asexual aromantic, asexual = "not into sex at all, even it repulses me", aromantic : no romantic feelings or sexual attraction for either gender. I could care less about others' looks, but am obsessed with my own, am constantly finding faults with my own body, a minor pimple could make me go bonkers over it. I have many many mental illnesses. So yeah, also due to a trauma I've been through in regards to it, that has shaped up my views on this matter. Asexual people just don't have any sex drive at all. In my 30 years living, I've never felt anything romantic at all for anyone, so yeah, hence : "aromantic asexual" for me. That's strictly my view on it though, you may have your own views on it too, you're a human being and I'll respect it.

    Heterosexual.

Here's what I wonder (and I'm not critiquing you or judging, just genuinely curious):

If you're asexual, don't you just lack sexual feelings? If you would have just said the first part, that you're not into sex, I'd get that. It would seem to fit the definition. But repulsion is a strong feeling. Negative, but strong. It makes it seem like something else.

For example, I'd rather someone be mad at me than not feel anything. If I made them mad, then that means I'm in their hearts. Maybe I just let them down and can turn the anger into love. But if they feel apathy for me, then I have no chance.

There are many asexuality definitions. You could be sex-repulsed, lacking sexual feelings or etc. So yeah. I fit in the repulsed by sex category, lol!

I feel sympathy for you. Sexuality and romantic feelings for one of the opposing sex are the greatest feelings you can possibly imagine.c

Meh, sex is overrated. I'm a fan, but it can be messy, physically and emotionally. If you have no need for it, you can focus your energies elsewhere and accomplish much.

Sex is very healthy. I believe that for some it's less advantageous but physically, spiritually, emotionally, sex is a healthy activity. I'm all for anything that improves overall health.

Sex is a nice, healthy activity that results in great feelings of physical and emotional well-being! Just as atskitty said.
It's a good stress-reliever, and it makes you feel bonded to your partner.

Sex is good, but diseases, unwanted babies, heartbreak, and all kinds of sexual issues are not. Look at how much of these boards are dedicated to all of the struggles that come from sexuality. That's what initially brought me here.

Nobody likes sex more than me, but if I could somehow redirect my sexual energy towards more useful endeavors, I don't know that I'd keep the sex.

I used to do a report on George Washington Carver for black history month every year. He died in the first part of last century, but his accomplishments and brilliance still influence us. My dad recently mentioned to me a detail they didn't tell us as kids - he was castrated. Then he said, "If you weren't trying to get some, think how much you could accomplish." We had a good laugh. It's funny because it's true.

I looked this up. Most of what is said about George Washington Carvers early life is speculation. His exact age isn't know nor is the year of his birth. He became emancipated in 1865. The stories of him being castrated when he was young don't make sense. What is noticeable in photographs is a well developed mustache, the kind that grows when a man has a reasonable amount of testosterone. A man being castrated when young would most likely not develop such a secondary sexual characteristic. However he did not marry and had a high pitched voice and people will explain those things away. None of that should distract from his accomplishments.

                    ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia
