so imagine a guy in lime green or red pants
Yea, it is not safe. Personally not to sound offensive, but it screams, "hurt whitey and take his money".

I'n not for sure if i understood that right, but my car is cheap and old. Nothin flashy here. Or was all of that directed at the other post?

Jonny, I didn't mean that you need loads of money, I just meant trick women into thinking you do... You might as well have a load of cash in your wallet, then get it out at the bar, buy your drinks like you would anyway, and just let them see a wad of cash. I was basically being cynical about womens desires for "ambition" in a man as I see that as "drive me around in a nice car and buy my children a house". If they are shallow enough to want money, you can morally exploit that for sex, if that's what you want.

Monies, I'm aware it's a falsity, but that's what I'm saying. Personally, I think if a woman is going to act like a prostitute (chase money), then she might as well be barking up the wrong tree, and getting used for sex, just like she'd use sex to get a necklace or whatever.

And come on, in an average some things are going to be over, and some are going to be under... Some will be 8, some will be 4, and in the land of the rising sun, some will be 1.

Also, I live in London and there's 'nuff people who could mug me, but I still rock my purple trousers faithfully. Can't live your whole life being afraid.

But yeah anyway Jonny, you seriously need to start seeing the glass as half full, your pessimism is boring - ladies will think that too. So you can't go for a walk in a park at night? Go for a walk down the river and have a picnic in the day - whatever, it's all the same.

The other post...not you. Just someone who made what I thought to be a false assumption about me and something I said. And thanks for making it clear that colored trousers in Memphis is Not an okay thing to do. In NY, one could get away with it but not many places in the South.

Anon, you don't know Memfrica obviously ... people get killed there for the wallet move you described.
(And of course, to preempt the scandal, I don't mean anything by calling Memphis "Memfrica;" that's just what we call it 'round these here parts.)
Jonny, you should make yourself happy. It doesn't really matter what any of us say, if you act like a jackass and hate yourself and a girl finally likes you, eventually you're gonna hate her just as much as you hate yourself. There's no recipe.
But truthfully ... only hippie indie rock boys wear orange cords with old man shoes. Even though frat boys are adopting that old man shoe look, as far as I can tell >.>

            LMAO!!

Oh man, I gotta say, this is a hilarious thread!! (No offense Jonny) I couldnt believe that no one had said anything about the colored pants thing before me. My mom lived in Memphis....for petes sake, do NOT go walking thru the park in pink pants!! Geeeez, I'm sorry, I can not stop laughing!!

As for Anons interpritation of ambition......come on man!! Not ALL women want the fake flash, that is NOT what I was talking about! Show you have what it takes, have what YOU want, do what it takes to get it.

              Very true.

Jonny, i think the first thing you have to do is look in that mirror and tell yourself your a hunk...

Self confidence, is attitude, is charismic.....

Low confidence, keeps your head down, your voice non heard and your private parts never used.

Who are you? What do you like about yourself? And, where do you want to go in life?

So far, you don't like a lot about yourself and that's a shame because a lot here have laughed ( in a good way) at your personality, it reeks fun... You have a fun side about you...

Looks mean jack... if you can ascert yourself correctly.. so teeth, slim build, size, hair cut, Ford, none it if means jack... A woman likes a man for himself so get a move on and tell yourself your actually okay, and feel it...

Well, yeah, I guess I don't know what it's like to live in the **** end of America... I suppose I should be glad of that. Europe and freedom of expression for the win. (on the whole)

Okay, just to clear this up, I am NO indie/rock boy... nor do I wear old man shoes..... However, I suppose I could be diagnosed as a classy hippy <_<

Jonny, changing yourself won't make you hate yourself. In fact you seem to be doing a good job of that at the moment as yourself - try improving yourself.

Happy1, I know that ambition in itself is a desirable trait... I just find it boring when women say they want a man that's going somewhere etc... basically what they mean is that they want to be looked after, be able to have what they want, be comfortable, sparkled with diamonds. And if that's the case, it's hard to see where actual emotions could enter this solicitous contract of a relationship.

                  .

Yes, this is how it can be construed.

However, that's for a "princess gold digger".

Other women, like men with ambition because it shows that they have passions in life, goals, dreams and desires. If she is of the same mould, then there is more of a match, than some non-ambition man who doesn't give a shirt about much at all in life..

It's not always about the money.

And, since us women are out there doing it for ourselves these days, we also want a bit of equality there, as you can imagine, a female whom is ambitious, successful financially doesn't want a guy who is going to spend it all... That's not going to work in a relationship...

Just saying, not all women want this due to nice cars, rings, etc...

I personally, like all the traits that go with ambition as stated above, not the finances, i am self sufficient...

So what if the ambition is in something without such tangible benefits as money? What if it's spreading green living to the masses, or something like that?

Maybe I'm just being defensive since I seem to have lost my ambition a couple of years ago, and I'm still struggling to find it again...

Would still fit into my picture. Much like my nephew.. He's ambitious and wants to play a guitar in a band. My parents, have stated, no you should go to college, get a degree, aim at a real job, type of thing. My view is, well, get into the hospitality industry, work a bar, the floor, and maybe your boss will let you do a few gigs, so you can follow your dream, whilst still being able to survive. If that's his dream/goal/ambition don't squash it, you don't have to be a loser if you know how to survive...

If a man had an ambition a dream, goal and was hell bent on it, but no money, not an issue... as long as he wasn't selfish and wanted to follow that dream without trying to support himself along the way. Those who belive they can, can and will... In my books... but i'm very ambitious.....

Haha on your last quote, very obvious.... So, i'm into equality or at least he has to work for a living and love what he does.. That will do...
