    Drinking Pee

My **** buddy mentioned drinking pee (each other's and our own) as an activity that really turns him on. I find the idea extremely hot, but I wonder how safe is that. I would appreciate your insights, as well as recommended health reading materials.

Drinking your own pee is rumored to be sterile. This is not so. You probably won’t be harmed by drinking your own, but drinking someone else’s pee is dangerous. You’re taking in what their body has flushed out as unnecessary or harmful. I strongly advise against this.

Fresh pee from a healthy individual was for a long time thought to be sterile except for any bacteria picked up on it's way out of the body. It turns out that is not so as some bacteria can colonize the bladder even in a healthy individual. The bacteria colonizing the bladder cannot be cultured using standard techniques and was found by advanced science (look up PMC4659483 at the National Institutes of Health). Pee that has sat around a while can have significant bacterial growth in it. That being said, I have not read anything that indicates that well hydrated fresh pee that has not recycled through the body more than once is more of a health risk than French kissing or oral sex.
