Anyone have any recommendations for sex toys for a first timer???

Heres the thing.......I have been married to my husband for 4.5 years.....we went through a rough patch recently but seem to be getting through it and are having a much better sex life than we have for a long time.....we have great intercourse, nearly always orgasm and we enjoy foreplay again.....thing is....we recently discussed sex toys as a bit of a fantasy/sexy addition....... we have never done anything like this before.... I am a bit weary as I dont want to get something totally innapropriate LOL.....whats the best toys for couples?? We have never watched porn together either....(I am not sure if I would like to and I am not sure if I would be comfortable watching him look at other naked women right before we get it on?? ) anyone think that porn can help?? or to avoid??
Really not sure what to get but hoping to order some things as a surprise in the next few days so all suggestions very welcome.....

My favorite is a g spot vibrator. Very small, jelly-like feel to it. Around $20 I'd start with something like that. My newest toy that I purchased was a glass wand. You can heat/chill it. Haven't had it but a few weeks so haven't used it but once, but so far, so good. It was around $50. I don't have a We-Vibe (yet) but they're a couples toy. I want the We-Vibe III(it comes with a remote). Just google search it, and you'll find the website and it'll explain it better.

As far as porn, I'd stick with introducing a toy first. My husband and I watch it on occasion(not so much as we have two children in the house), but I didn't think I'd like it at first either. As long as it's got some kind of "plot" to it, I don't mind it. Hope this helps you out. Good luck and enjoy

Watching porn can be a really good turn on, but you have to be OK with the whole idea of your husband watching porn first. I don't mind my partner watching porn and I don't have an issue with it so when we watch it it's fun (and we generally can't wait to get our hands on each other afterwards!)

Some good beginner toys may be a vibe egg (a vibrating little egg that you can use on your husband, he can use on you), a small dildo, a vibrator, or a rabbit (my personal favourite)

Also, remember that there is nothing inappropriate about wanting to explore new things! Just make sure you talk with your husband about the toys/porn before you get them, or just ask ideas.

        A couple of suggestions...

There's a little vibrator called a "pocket rocket" (brand name) made by Doc somebody...

Glass toys are also good in that they are much easier to clean (dishwasher safe) and to get completely clean.

My SO has a rabbit too. Quite an investment, about $80.00 for the nice one, but it makes her go crazy and is a nice change.

We also have a thin vibrator, about 7 or 8 inches long, maybe 3/4 - 1 inch in diameter that is easily inserted. Vibration is adjustable.

She enjoys her toys for a change and I do too. I enjoy using them on her for an extra "bonus" of sorts.

        Happy shopping!

Why don't you go browsing together online and talk about all the goodies that are available and see what tickles your fancies. The only things that would be 'inappropriate' are things you're not interested in. If you're both open with each other and non judgemental about what the other might like then you have a wide range of possible entertainment. Happy shopping!

Hi, Just my own opinion but I would avoid sex toys like the plague. My wife bought 1 in July this year (our sex life \ relationship has been a bit rocky (been togther now for almost 20 years!) (not that I was aware of any problems during love making both of us seemed to really enjoy it), but I think this has been the nail in our sex-life-coffin. I had\have mixed feelings about using toys and was surprised when my wife wanted to introduce them and also bought a porn DVD (not watched), I am open minded and quickly got over the negative feelings about them and couldnt wait for us to use the toy, I thought it could improve things and it would be really hot and exciting but since buying the toy we have made love about 4 times (since July!) she has turned down my sexual advances and I know she has been using her vibe alone. So toys have NOT helped us, be wary!!!

We recently bought ourselves a vibe for Christmas. To make a long story short: She didn't like it. It makes important part of her body go insensitive, not quite what we were aiming to achieve.

On the other hand I can whole heatedly recommend coconut oil. You can use it for massages. It makes the skin go really smooth (one tea spoon suffices for the whole back). It is also really tasty and makes you go "Yummi!"
It can also be used as a lubricant for vaginal and anal sex (as long as you are not allergic). So you don't have to wash hands or other parts of your bodies and kill all the mood you built up.
At room temperature coconut oil is solid. Once it comes into contact with skin, it starts melting.
Use a tea spoon to extract the oil from the glas. That way you can still use the left overs for cooking.
