How did you feel buying your first vibrator?

How did you feel buying your first vibrator? What made you decide to take the plunge?
And if you've never bought one, why not?

I never bought one or used one. I'm a prude. I only want hands and tongue.

I bought my first vibrator because I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I felt pretty nervous and I didn't know what I was really doing. I bought this pathetic, porous thing that didn't even have a g-stop curve. It didn't provide me waves of pleasure, but when I felt the vibrations through clitoral stimulation, I knew I needed to get something better. My fiance and I have bought several since then, and each time I still feel all giddy. They've done wonders for us.
