Well if totally not in the mood then a woman will be quite dry down there and feel uncomfortable with rubbing or penetration of any kind, but if you add some lube for clitiral stimulation and gradually ease in, say, a finger or so...I think a woman can get aroused more easily than without lube. It helps to relax, knowing that your bits are slippery and wont get sore.
There is no open sesame after squirting on a blob of ky!“...choose to believe in your own myth
your own glamour
your own spell
a young woman who does this
(even if she is just pretending)
has everything....”

Does anyone think they're aroused when they're really not? I'm going off topic, but there were times where I thought I was ready for penetration...and then I wasn't. So, we had to stop and do way more foreplay."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

I use lube when I'm aroused because vaginal dryness is definitely a thing -- no matter how much my mind and other parts of my body indicate I want sex and no matter how relaxed my body is, there's not enough natural lubrication to keep penetration pain-free.
I've also found lube helpful when I wasn't actually aroused that much (at least to the point of desperately wanting penetrative sex) or all that relaxed but I tend to use a really thick lube that reduces friction so well that almost anything can be shoe-horned in, lol.
We don't even stop to "check" if I'm wet enough naturally anymore. We automatically grab the lube. Even if I happen to be wetter than my new normal, it still enhances sex and makes every glide nicely.Comment
