    Am I too sensitive?

We're in this new place, just a work assignment for my BF. He tugged me along with this trip because it's my summer vacation, and is therefore the only time I have to be with him. He got home yesterday, we exchanged stories about how the day went....then, BF told me about a converstaion with a co-worker. How would you take it, if you were in my shoes?

His co-worker told him that there is a strip club that he can go to, then he answered: "I don't need that. I have someone in my hotel room who can strip for me" (referring to me). I went ballistic, I was offended. I was passive the entire evening with him. Was it wrong to be offended? Was I too sensitive?

I felt degraded. And it's hard for me to shake that out of my system.

I don't know him but my first thoughts were that I don't think he meant anything that you should feel was offensive. I think maybe he was simply saying that he wasn't interested in such because he has a girlfriend - you.
There is a method to my madness ........ I just haven't found it yet.

Oh Dear, the poor guy probably was engaging a little macho, I got something you dont'. Unless he was really obnoxious about it, I'd laugh it off. Suggest he strip for you?

I would have to agree. He didn't call YOU the stripper. He just said you would be better than a stripper cause you are all his. I think he was probably bragging like "ha, ha, i don't have to go to a strip club when my hot awesome gf would be better" type thing. I say don't worry about it. And go with what WC said..laugh it off and tell HIM to strip for YOU!.

You all have a point. I was terribly sensitive. I should've looked at it this way...Thanks for sharing.

He strips for me everyday, every time without me asking...lol!

            Aweeeee.

I think he was "so proud" to state, pftttt, who needs a strip joint? I have a beautiful woman waiting for me and was sharing that proudness with you, he didn't mean you are a "stripper", but you know what? I would now walk around in your undies and bras and say okay where's my poll?

You both should crack up laughing I am thinking.

Good for him... He doesn't need them, he has you.

Yup, that, I should be proud of! I am his very own brand of porn, his very taste of "stripper" (though I really don't strip myself unless I need to change clothes or shower; majority of cases: he strips me.lol!)

It is just hard to shake off old mom's conservative up-bringing, but I'm getting there!

Don't worry, a remark like that would upset me too; but I agree with what everyone else is saying, he was either trying to be macho or convey the fact that you stripping is better than a woman who does it for a living. Plus you are his girlfriend, and he obviously loves your body way more than some dancer on a pole.

LoL!! guys say the dumbest things alot....I would have felt embarrassed by that too. I guess in 'guy language' lol he meant that you are better than the stripper but still what a weird thing to say.

I think he was trying to make you feel good and it backfired on him. I think in telling you what he did he was probably hoping it would make you happy, like as if the strippers are no competition for you that he'd rather be in his hotel room with you than paying for dances from strangers.

As a side note: What is it with guys and strip clubs these days. A long time ago it would be a rare occurance, bachelor party thing. Now guys on a tuesday morning, its rediculous. I think since much of the stigma has been lifted off patrons of these type of establishments and dancers themselves so they are taking full advantage of that and going like crazy.

I'd be embarassed at having to pay a hot guy to talk to me. To know all the flirting being done in my direction is only being done because I am holding out a stack of ones. Guys are losing their dignity and they don't even realize it. The dancers themselves don't even respect the guys who patron. Bleah.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
