    First Heartbreak

I *just* asked for roommate advice a couple days ago.. And now I'm back for more help.

    I've been dumped T____T

This was my first love and my very first experience with heartbreak. We dated for +1 years and hung out everyday... So it's not just getting over him.. It's like breaking a habit. For over a year I did the same thing and now I can't do that anymore... So.. What do I do?

I know I'll be okay and I know eventually I will get over it. This is only day one.

Really.. What I'm asking for is just advice on how to pass time. Especially this really sad "I want to be alone" phase.

I've been reading other sites and they suggest making lists... and writing in a journal.. and yes, they are good ideas.. But that just doesn't take up enough time. This day feels like it will never end x_X

Everyone's been there . One of the best things to do to loosen up stress and sadness is physical exercise. I don't know how athletic you are regularly, but just taking a brisk walk every day until you start to feel better can help you to cope with the emotions you are inevitabley going to go through. Sit ups, jogging, swimming, whatever you like to do. Even organized sports. It helps release internal pain and pressure. Be good to yourself in the process. Like you said and you know, you'll be ok after some time.

One of my fave things to do is a movie, and a treat. It sounds silly, but it really does feel good to put on your jammies, grab a pillow & blanket. Curl up on your couch with your fave ice cream or something else.

You choose the movie. You can get something sad that makes you cry. After you'll feel better for letting your feelings out. When you're ready to laugh, then get a comedy that you absolutely love..

Consider it "Pamper you time". No guys allowed. You can either do this by yourself, or invite your female friends - whatever you decide..
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

I just made it through my first day. I still feel like I have some denial :/ I do catch myself and stop myself when I think things like, "Maybe he'll call"... I know it's over.. but in a way I feel it hasn't 100% hit me..

Man, just one day of this and I feel like I already deserve a medal.

For tomorrow I plan on going for a walk, watching some movies, and trying out a language program I downloaded. My only concern now is how I'm supposed to fall asleep. LoL.

Go and join dating sites, you can say "no thankyou" to all if you wish in a polite way but at least you'll get lots of attention and realise your worth, lol.

          Seriously...

Then go and organise an appointment to get your hair coloured, tinted, cut, changed, something that you like that you can afford.

Then after that, go and by a Belgian Chocolate and eat it slowly as if it's your new lover and smile and say pftttt, if only you knew what your missing.

And after that, have a hot bath with candles and smile..... cause you've had a long day and well it will let you sleep better.

          Keep walking.
          Keep talking.

          You'll feel great.

Exersize, take some nice long walks, find some pretty places to visit. Buy yourself flowers, get out with freinds, spend some quiet time meditating. Start a new hobby or learn a new skill. GIve yourself time to heal before you even consider getting involved with anyone.

Thank you for the replies, you are all so kind.

Day 2 is over now. I think it's finally setting in. Surprisingly.. I've been having moments of complete.. okayness. ^^;; I still cry when the subject comes up or when my roommate asks if I'm okay. LoL I'm okay as long as no one asks.

Do any of you remember how long it took for you to get over your first love? or any love?

                Still working on it, lol.

Doesn't matter.. What matters is you, knowing who you are and therefore, getting on with live and believing....

Maybe one day people can see what they missed?

                You never know sweet.

well you have the right attitude right out of the gate " knowing one day you will be ok" You have just lost a relationship and its like losing an arm. Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling don't deny yourself that. It will help you heal your heart.

This extra time you now have can be used to broaden your life just as you already said. Get out and make new friends and have some fun flirting with guys have some fun exloring your own life on your own terms.

I went out with friends tonight. We went dancing which I haven't done in years. I had so much fun. The entire time I was thinking, "I can do this. I can get through this."

Now that I'm home though... And alone. I just feel so empty.

I know this is temporary.. But... It just hurts so much. T_T I really hate this.
