it is OK if you to be "that" non-smoker, as his smoking does effect you as well. I agree that you shouldn't "nag", but if it bothers you then you should be able to talk about it. i have dated people that were smokers, but it always became a deal breaker for me as i get sick from the smell.

if he want to quit, help him. if not, you have to decide if it is a deal breaker for you or not.

I've never brought the subject up since as some of you said, nagging is definitely not the way to go... and no, he has NEVER mentioned a desire to quit, which is not a good sign.

I guess the best way to ever bring it up, if at all, is to mention that I'm worried about his health... right? That's not nagging, is it?
You definitely should explain to him that it bothers you. Telling him you're worried about his health (and yours..) is not nagging. Even if he does not want to quit, he should be aware that you are concerned. Maybe he just never thought about quitting and your discussion will help him to make that decision. Maybe he will keep smoking, but will make a conscious effort to not smoke around you...

In any case, you should have a talk with him about it so at least he knows how you feel...

Alright, I'll think of a way to bring it up. UGH I'm going to try really hard to NOT let this be a deal breaker... I'm a little frustrated though, it seems like so many young people these days do NOT smoke, and then the loveliest guy I've met just happens to do so. Boo!!

Assuming your personality is as good as your appearance, you really should be able to find a guy just as good(if not better) who doesn't smoke.

I am sorry, but you don't have to put up with this....

Aw thanks for having faith in me...

Sometimes people say if we love someone, we have to accept their "flaws"... Where do you draw the line between accepting someone for who they are and leaving them in the hopes of finding someone better??

When they aren't willing to put the effort into improving themselves.

Honestly, there are some things we can't handle. However, there are some things we can always do to improve upon ourselves.......

Ya, girls like your in terms are rare. Again, if your are truley as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside, you REALLY can do better EASILY.

I find it unfair that this guy is able to snag someone like you. Im in shape(not fat or skrawny), have a decent face with nice eyes, will make 45k a year in my chose field outta school, treat people with equality, help people when I can get the chance, take advice an improve upon myself.

I cant get girls that look like you to talk to me!!! go figure.......

Not at all, I really appreciate the kind words... But there's also a danger sometimes of looking for someone so ideal that you end up alone forever. Everyone has some kind of problem that needs to be dealt with.

When I think about finding someone else, who am I going to get? Someone who's addicted to porn? Someone who has a problematic family? Someone who can't get over an ex? Someone who doesn't know how to be serious about someone? Someone who doesn't know how to treat a woman in bed? Someone sexist, someone racist, homophobic, violent, bad mannered, arrogant, etc etc etc?

Am I coming off as pessimistic? Maybe. But I think I've got a pretty good deal going here, maybe I should stick with it for a while, especially since I haven't even talked about it with him yet. Who knows, maybe he'll take my concerns seriously when I do.

And as for you GentlemanGhost, I think maybe you're still suffering from the effects of bad treatment in high school / middle school. I know it took me a while to get over it, too, and realize that I have a lot of qualities that the people who used to make me feel small don't!

Let's analyze YOU for a sex:

                      -Drop dead gorgeous

-Not a stuck up and snobby unlike most women of that caliber

                      -Educated

Do you have ANY idea how rare a female like you is? Do you get that you get the pick of the crop.

Yes, you choose this guy. I guess that is kind of noble somehow.

I can assure you, go to a church singles group and look for men there(I go to one). If you see any guy you find attractive there, ask him out.

There is a high probability he won't be a drug addict, porn addict, and all those things you mentioned.

COMMON, it can't be THAT hard to find a decent guy........Ive been single for a while now! lol

I am just wondering. How old are you anyway? You look like 24-25.......

You also look like some sort of teacher? Am I right?
