    It is and it isn't.

I would never consider dating someone my kids ages.

So, I do have some limitations on age differences.

Personally, I'd rather date someone within my own general age group. But that's just me.

      It just depends.
I mean, if it were say, a 10 year old and a 40 year old that would be wrong. There's a point where it becomes illegal/pedophilia of course. And some people abuse the age difference or don't know how to work with it.
But if someone were 17 or 18 and with someone much older, I think it's fine. As long as they are mature enough to be in a relationship and it is a healthy relationship it's fine.
      I'm 18 and I've been dating a 30 year old for about 7 months.
We're perfectly happy with each other and contrary to what some people think I'm not using him for money and he's not using me for sex. We just enjoy each others company. We have things in common and some things we don't have in common, but that's fine. Because we always try to understand what the other wants/needs/knows. We learn from each other and have fun.

It just depends on who the two people are. Dating someone 9 years my junior it became a mismatch in maturity. Dating someone 21 my senior was just too much of a gap for me to ever accept. But with other couples, it works.

I am 18, (19 in few days) and my bf is 45.

It's on this thread, the whole story, as it happened:

If you told me in November last year this would happen to me I would not believe it's possible. But it happened and I love every minute of it.

It is not about money or any other silly reason as mentioned on this thread. I have no financial gain from this realtionship. We really can't get enough of each other. I enjoy being with him, everything including sex is great. He is a dream come true.

I feel age gap is the last taboo of our society when it comes to dating and sex (of consenting ADULTS). Everything else goes and no one is bothered. It's not right and it's not fair.

When I was 25, I dated a woman that was 40. That relationship lasted 5 or so years. We never had any problems as far as our age difference goes. We listened to the same type of music, talked about the same stuff and I never saw her as older. Never crossed my mind while we were together. Other people outside of our relationship would say things. Not in a negative way though. In my case, age was just a number.

              Perfect example,and I couldn't agree more!

Honestly,if the two are happy, compatible, and the age difference isn't an issue, who cares what other people think. That's why I think age of consent is a pointless law that is broken by many couples now a days.

Age different means nothing.Although I have said in my previous post on this thread, there does come a point where the age difference is a bit much, but who am I to judge someone else,if they are happy, let them be.

I side with cuff; it's just a number.
I have had good relationships with women 10 to 15 years older than me and, when I was 44, with one who was 20 years younger. I nearly married a woman 13 years younger than me, and did marry one 2 months younger! In each case, it was the personalities that meshed, not the ages.

i think depending on the circumstance and relationship and how big of an age gap there is it could work and it may not. but it also depends on who the two people are. and as for a 20 yr old with an 80 yr old. i think they may have "a love" for eachother but i dont believe that someone that could be your grandparent is the soul mate God created for them. But i think age is just a number. but take note...it all depends on who the two are as individuals and how they connect together.

no. it's not just a number.
I don't think you could have a long time /serious relationship with someone 30 years younger/older that you..

Everyone who says age doesn't matter, is utterly wrong. They're making a wrong generalization.
