Just last night I told him about something I would like to do. My workmate's cousin is going to be spending NYE 2010 in Sydney with her, and she wanted to organise a cruise around Sydney Harbour to ring in the new year. I have lived in Sydney my whole life and never experienced anything like that. I told him about it (granted, at $350 per person it's not cheap, but the experience would be just incredible) and again he told me we can't afford it, it's too expensive, he won't know anyone, how will we get home. If we can't come up with $700 together by December something is not right. I almost cried.
I just don't know what to do anymore. I don't want to live life without him, but something's gotta give. The hardest part is his heart is in the right place, he is saving for our future together and that is wonderful considering a lot of men just drink and party it away. I always feel like the bad guy because he is doing the right, sensible thing by us, but all my young years are just passing me by and I have become so depressed.
Did I mention there is a significant age gap between us?? He is 46 and I am 27, so knowing he had all his fun years where he lived it up and spent it up and I am not doing the same now, hurts double.
