    I told him again tonight.

He's laying on the couch in the darkness, not happy at all.

    I'm starting to waiver again.

    Someone help me!

I feel SO BAD about this...

Don't you think that is what he is trying to do?

      It's called EMOTIONAL BLACKMAIL sweetheart.

Two true couples, work at harmony, not trying to make the other feel guilty TO WIN..

      Sleep on it.

I left my boyfriend of 3.5 years when I was 21 and entered into the great unknown, with hardly any friends and only my parents at my back. Best decision I ever made.

        Just do it.

Wednesday, you can do this! He is going to mope, you know that. He is going to try to guilt you like he has so many times before, you know that.

What he doesn't know (but hopefully you do) is how strong you can be. You've put your life on hold for over 3 years for him and he's let you do it. It is finally your time now. Take this opportunity to start living your life!

Do it! Pack your stuff and GET OUT OF THERE!

in my opinion i would go back to my parents and save an get my own place or move in with reliable friends. sounds like he needs a reality check and to grow up,i mean he cant rely on you forever and it sounds like he will if you let him. moving back with your parents doesnt mean you have to break up it just means that if he wants a 'grown up' {lol, sorry} relationship and loves you then he will have to get a job and take half the responsibilitys of the bills off your shoulders.
i say move back to mum and dads, save up for travel or a nice pair of shoes {lol},treat yourself because it sounds like you need a little pampering. Also by moving back to your parents you are showing you want more in this relationship and that he should see it as a blessing because when you both work and save you both benifit and your relationship will be stronger. If he doesnt want to grow up maybe its time to leave because ive recentley found out that in my past relationship is if you dont both want the same thing it wont ever workout unfortunately. hope i was semi helpful, good luck working out whats best for you

i have to agree with everyone that has responded to your story Wednesday. I think you should get out of there and take up your parents offer. You only have one life to live, and you should live it the way you want to live it.

He sounds to me very immature and you deserve so much better then that. Get out of there as soon as you can ...

You shouldn't feel guilty at all regardless of how nice his family is to you. Just make him understand that it's for the best that you move out, that you really want to be with your parents right now. I'm sure he knows how miserable you already are and that you just wanted to make a great future for yourself or for both of you (might make him realize to do his part to improve his life also).

I hope you do find the guts to move out. It's definitely your future at stake. Here's hoping for the best!

Thank you all so much for your help!

The last attempt (spurring the last post I made) was another failure. It kind of blind-sided me with how quickly it turned in to "Okay, I'll stay." But, today I put a little more zest in to it. Or, well, his father did.

His dad told him today that it's unfair of him to hold me back like this and that he has some ultimatums for him as well. This complicated the story at first. His father told him that he has to get a job by the end of the month OR move back in with him where there will be no television, no video games, and no internet (except to fill out applications). Either that, or ask his brother if he'd be willing to pay all the rent. This whole thing ended with my boyfriend asking me, "Do you still want to move out?"

I answered "yes" and it caused a chaotic fight (I have astronomy lab at my school once a week, and of course, he picked an hour before I have to leave to do this) that included him saying "Well we may as well just break up! If you cared, you would at least TRY to get a full time job to help out while I kept looking for work!" And that set me off. I finally said all the things I wanted to say. Told him how I've given three and a half years of my life to this and if he can't see all that I've given, it was wasted time. etc.

Long story short, he calmed down when I told him that I had to go to school because I didn't spend all that time studying for a test I'm going to miss. That was something I would never have done. I've missed countless days of school previous to this because he's started a fight with me right before I had to leave. But I left and while I was gone, he felt bad and apologized. But I still didn't waiver. I told him to just be an adult about this and stop trying to hurt me to get me to stay. He seemed pretty understanding and all is well now while he sleeps. Hopefully it'll be just as positive tomorrow.

But I am moving back in with my parents and any money I make will be mine. My bed will be mine again; my computer will be mine... Pink comforter, here I come.

I have no idea, however, what the outcome of this is going to be. In my head, I can see nothing but good. But all he sees is bad and that I'm "abandoning him." I really think it will be enough to get him to get his life on track. Regardless of if we stay together forever, I really wish this for him. I want him to be self-sufficient and responsible. I just hope this is the right way to go about it.

I think you handled that very well! I'm so happy for you that you stood your ground and are doing what's best for you now! Good for you!

I see nothing but positivity headed your way

Good girl! That is the kind of standing up for yourself and your ground that will get you places. I can only imagine a girl that has as many talents and smarts as you will go far.
