    Ha! I'm not anymore!

Well if you're just friends first with the new guy then I think that's quite alright, and if it feels right to bring up the ex then do so.

I have NEVER understood the idea of being "friends" with exs. Why don't you want to end your friendship with the ex? I think you're right, that it might be the only way to honestly move on.

the guy is not my ex, mes... we never dated... it's a long story but but to make it short, he's my best friend, and almost a year ago he led me on saying he had feelings for me, and I admitted that I also felt something for him, even though he was in a relationship. Then a few months later (when his relationship had a falling out), he said he did not actually feel that way about me after he had "thought about it", and only likes me as a friend. I was very hurt and heartbroken, he knew that and felt horrible about the whole thing, but even after that he continued to send me mixed signals (whether he meant to or not), and for the past year I've been finding it extremely hard to get over him and get past this. I loved him and still do, but we will most likely never date each other because he does not feel the same. Because we are such close friends, getting over him has been so hard, but I'm desperately trying to... I don't really know what to do except try to move on.

          Good point.
